Hey guys, a buddy on here said I needed to show off what I recently completed so here we go. I purchased a wrecked 2010 Titan SE from a salvage auction about three weeks ago. Well one simply does not buy a wrecked titan for no reason, I pulled the engine the afternoon that I picked it up from the yard. the following week I removed the engine from my truck, a 2006 Nissan Frontier Nismo and began the transformation. installed the VK56 into the frontier was a breeze and to be completed honest the entire swap was easier than just removing the VK from the Titan.

Long story short. I have a full titan braking system, power train, and suspension. i guess its basically a titan on a frontier chassis.

I have to give credit where credit is due, i could not have done this without a fellow club frontier member(sinister06)

anywho, there ya go.

I reprogrammed and reflashed the Ecm using CIII+. I haven't had it tuned yet. I'm working on working out the flex fuel bug right now, the bug being my truck obviously didn't have it and the ECM is looking for it. I will send some pictures and more videos as this project progresses. She runs and drives on backroad I am averaging 15mpg and 22 hwy, which is a 2.0 mpg gain over the 4.0.

Many videos to come, any andice on mods, please let me know, I'm currently thinking Cajun b and y pipes into banks

Wow. That is awesome. I have a million and one questions about this:

1. Did the motor mounts go right in or did you have to fab them?
2. What about transmission mount, transmission linkage?
3. Odometer & electronics make sense?
4. Did you have to fab a driveshaft? Is it 4WD? How did everything hook up?

In response to you questions, you use the Titan motor mount bushings, the Titan engine mount brackets, transmission mount doesn't matter and the Titan and frontier transmission have the same footprint, only different is gearing and pressures but he case is the same so it all lines up with the frontier without modification with lead to the next question, the driveshaft just slides back into the Titan transfer case no custom driveshaft. This swap is really simple. The mechanical and nuts and bolts aspect of it is the easiest part. The hardest part is the custom wiring you have to do besides the jumper harness which took about a hour to do. This swap was started Saturday morning 645 am and was finished Saturday evening around 11pm. The tach speedo coolant temp, battery voltage all work, the oil pressure sender from the frontier had to be swapped onto the VK and I had to extend the wiring as he frontiers oil pressure sender runs directly to the engine bay harness. Fuel level sender work good but the ECM think it has a 25 gallon tank, which I'm working on swapping into the frontier as well. More updates to come. Right now I'm trying to flash a non flex fuel firmware onto the ECM so it no longer throws a code for the Fuel Pump Control Module

I wonder if you could have used a wiring harness from the pathfinder with the v8 to make everything plug and play?

Great job by the way!

Very impressive. I can't get over how nicely that fills the engine bay. Looks like it came fresh from the factory!
No kidding. I wonder if it can be smog tested?

Yes you can it's a direct swap with zero wiring changes but, even with my employee discount the harness is $1100!!!
I search and searched and searched and could find a used on.
