Thinking of picking up an 08 Titan CC LB 4wd

Hi everyone, as i said in the subject title i'm thinking of picking up an 08 Titan CC LB 4wd.

What should i know? I've done a fair bit of reading on here and my biggest scare is the diff.

Dont care much about MPG, just need a big truck that's not a 3/4 ton. Driven a few, found the pro-x a little too bouncy for us. Looking at an SE or LE.

How does everything hold up? I know you've probably heard these questions a million times, but i couldn't find a sticky or a purchasing sub-forum :(

Thanks in advance!

as a daily driver--
don't know about the '08's but if it were me doing it again, I would go with an LE. The SE and XE seat fabric looks dirty and leaves rings just from water drips (it's so humid here every drink with ice drips water). All the utility track stuff is really nice for strapping things down (even if it's only a few times a year). my opinion is that if you have a feature and don't use it that's OK, but it sucks to need/want a feature and not have it. LE all the way

for a work truck --
get the bare minimum since it's gonna get scratched/dinged anyway
it will be my daily driver. Do you think leather is easier to keep up then the cloth then? I dirt bike quite a bit, but also have a child and am scared of leather + child = bad things.
for the past 10-12 years all of our cars have had Leather. So starting when my daughter was 5 (now 15) all of the vehicles looked better than my current Titan interior. Cokes, cookies, crackers they all wipe right off the leather. The only thing I couldn't get out was a dime sized amount of blood from a nosebleed. I think she was about 8 and fell asleep and the nosebleed woke her up but she never said anything to us - when I turned around it looked like Al Capone stopped by LOL....
IMO - take care of the leather and it will outlast fabric - even halfway taking care of it and it will last just as long.
I have an '08 SE and it rides great. Test drove an '07 and the '08 back to back. My Fiance said no way to the '07 because the '08 rode much better.
bump for more help!

Even if you guys can point me to a good thread to read, or a FAQ. I've read all the stickies in this forum.... :)
I have an 04 SE and my interior still looks new. 70k on her and she looks like a new one. My problem has been brakes and bad diffs. The 08 has new , big brakes and you should be good to go. The diff, I still can not get Nissan to say what they did to fix it. You might get them to tell you. I think they owe us an explanation. I heard they built up the axles. What did they do? I know people who had a diff fail at 2800 miles on a 07. If the diff issue has been solved, you would be buying one hell of a truck, second to none.

I'm at 3000 miles on my '08 and no hint of any troubles. The brakes feel real good on this truck, much better than the '07 I test drove.
Yeah i've read they really beefed up the brakes. We'll see. I really liked the SE and LE i drove, the LE the seats are incredible. I just think it's too nice for what i'm going to use it for.

I dont know about the diff, but i've got 5 yrs and 60k to see what's up. Hopefully they're fixed, i'll ask them what they did, i'm sure after 4 years they must have come up with a solution right?
I bought my 08 Titan SE CC about a month ago, it is my first nissan, and so far I like it. the power is awesome. From what i hear nissan did fix the brake issues. as far as the rear axle upgrade, the driver side rear axle seal started leaking at about 700 miles. the dealer is having a hard time getting the new seals because of the redesign. It has been about 5 weeks and still waiting. I too test drove an 07 and 08. The 08 was far better, although the 07 had a bigger rebate.

after 700 miles? Jesus.

I've never owned a nissan before, just mazda's and bmws. I hope i know what i'm getting into!

700 miles and seals going out? That dont sound good. Better check the axle vent. You might want to look a the vent option described here on TT. Nissan better hope these diffs dont start having problems. 5years is enough.
I bought this truck, and have 6000 miles without worrying on mine. I should have gotten the leather as I have the "almond" interior. I did not want all the crap you have to get in an LE just for the seats, not to mention the Nissan leather is weak, IMHO. I plan on using the cloth up and then having a local shop do it in a quality leather. I can also tell you that the floor mats get filthy quick, and I am currently looking into the weathertech or husky floormats.

Hope this helps.....
Nissan leather is bad?

Only the center panels are leather, everything else is vinyl.
Love my LE Titan but the "Leather" seating could be better. Katzkin leather seat cover replacements are way better. Some here bought an SE and had leather installed. My truck is 2 1/2 years old with 50,000 miles and WOULD buy another Titan without hesitation.

Bought a 2003 Maxima GLE, traded it in for a 2004 Mazda 6. Worst decision I ever made car wise. Traded in the 6 as soon as I could and not take too big a shafting. Now I have an 07 Titan LE and have loved it ever since. Best car decision I ever made. BMW is not known for its reliabilty. I have heard people say never own a BMW out of warranty. Sweet cars though. Nissan is a great vehicle, every vehicle has its ups and downs. I drove every truck brand there is, Ford, Chevy, Dodge not Toyota (too expensive for what you get) and for me it was a no brainer. Best price and best truck. If you want a truck just test drive everyting and save the Titan for last. That should make your decison easier.
I've driven the ford and toyota. Ford because it's the cheapest, toyota because i thought that's what i wanted.

I loved the tundra, but to get the size bed i need i would lose 7 inches of rear seat space and the air vents for the kids, plus have to spend more, even though i would get their 5.7 which is in a class of it's own, wowsa.

The ford was ok. It drove very nicely, but didn't impress me.

I was originally turned off by the Titan after i did some research. Brakes, diffs, resale oh my! But it's the cheapest, it has the long bed and after more research seems a lot of the problems are fixed.

We'll see!
Any more comments? Tomorrow i'll be taking it out for the day for an extended test drive. Anything i should pay attention to?

Yeah...Run Forest, Run..... You are gonna sign the papers if you drive it. Make sure the one your take on your "extended test drive" is loaded just the way you want it. You will not even want to get out of it to sign the papers.

:werd:
Loaded and the exact one we're going to pickup if all goes to plan.

yay!
