OK, here's the thinking. As I look at the front of the truck, just below the headlight(driver's side), there is a "filler panel" that wraps just around the fender corner. With me so far...? The thougt was to stealth in a ram air opening into that area up to the factory air box. Any thoughts?? Comments. Questions. etc....Has anyone contemplated this? I was thinking of this so I wouldn't have to move the resevoir for the washer fluid. Just come in under the headlight up to the box.

We're just waking up, give us a day... Regular air comes in through thee fenderwell, down to about the same region, and in front a liitle higher if IIRC.

I believe someone makes working ram air scoops to go through the tow hook opening. Different place but I'd thought I'd mention it because if the area you are talking about is what I think it is, then it would be too small to actually make a difference.

Volant makes this to fit their CAI.

All input welcome. Most fresh air's aren't awfully big(face area). My wife's Altima V6 gave me the idea. It' really thin, but wide. It goes across the entire top of the radiator between the top of the grill and the hood bottom lip. My truck is darker color also, so wouldn't hardly notice at first glance. Just thinking out loud. May turn out to not be worth the trouble, but then again???

It all boils down to the same old Q=VA equation. and the balance of VA = VA. A 4"x3" area will flow the same amount by volume as a 2"x6" or 1"x12" opening. You just need to keep the initial VA equal to the exit VA or something will change. In other words, if you increase area, volume decreases, and vice versa. Keep this in mind as you don't really want the velocity of the air hitting inside the airbox too high or the turbulence will detract from the gain that any additional air volume may make.

Also, if you are bringing air in at higher velocity in opposite or opposing directions, you will get more turbulence. Just my .02. I'd be careful about rigging up something that may actually hinder your performance if not done correctly. But as an R&D project, and if you like to tinker, go for it, and let us know how it turns out.

Some one else started a thread on this several months ago. They ran 4-inch flexible duct to the fog light opening. Ram air is one of those tactics that actually has been proven to produce small HP gains, if done right. (Like in the trans ams) His mod looked good on paper, but I don't think anyone has done this to a Titan and proven it at the track.
