I stumbled upon this kit on Ebay and wondered if anyone had any expierence with them. I emailed the seller and he gave me a great price for two kits for the headlights and foglights.

That just looks too cheap to be true. Remember, if it looks too good to be true, IT IS!!! I'd stay away from those $29.99 - $59.99 HID conversion kits. Chances are they are either fake kits, bad quality, not plug-n-play, or you won't ever hear back from them if you buy them and have a problem.....

And look at that ballast. Who makes it? No name on it. No code. Nothing. Generic. BEWARE!!!
Thanks for your honesty. I looked at the feedback and for the most part, it looks good. But your right, who knows how long they last.
The ballast is the critical component. You really want to be careful dropping cash on veritable unknowns like that. You'd be much better taking the money you'd have spent, put it away, do it again next paycheck, and getting a quality set with that. It will take you longer, but you'll be better off for it.
Anyone know which brand is the best to get and where to get it from?
I've had a $70 kit for a while in my car and they are just like my $280 McCulloughs in the Titan
For that cheap price?...I'd try em'. I paid about $300 for mine but prices are coming down on everything lately.....except gas!
Go for the Smart4cars set.

It's still well under a 100 dollars (just under with shipping) but it is reputable.

I have it in my truck and love it. Another member had good luck with needing to exchange a part as well.

I like saving a buck wherever possible...but I like to go with at least some reputation as well...on a side note, I'd steer clear of anything over 6000K unless you want your truck lights to be REALLY colorful. I went with 6000K and they are almost too blue for my taste.
I went with a kit that cost $150 almost 2 years ago ,and I believe it to be the eqivilent of the $50-$70 kits avalible now on ebay.

So far it has been great. Never a issue.

The box or ballast have no name on them.
Well the price i got was $155 shipped for the two kits. I might just buy them to test them out. He gives a 1yr waranty on them..
Report Back if you do.

Good luck!!! Let us knowhow it turns on for ya. hehe. I have learned my lesson from Ebay HID kits.......they blow!!! And.....no way to contact most sellers to get help or parts. I will bet the parts will appear to be good and the install will seem easy. They all do.......it's the quality of the components you are installing.
New to this - appreciate any help offered.

Am getting my 08 Titan Pro-4X delivered today: and yeah, I'm a little bit excited.

I do a lot of driving at night on country roads (lotsa deer) I'm already getting a grill/brush guard to help if I hit a critter, but I'd rather avoid it in the first place.

With respect to HID kits, what bulb types do I need? Do I need to get a separate kit for high and low beams? I'm thinking of 600K for optimal performance.

HID's arent optimal for high beams. They cant take the constant switching on and off well.

I would go for a 4300k for country roads, as that is the best lighting for low light conditions. 9006 is your low beam bulb.

I went with this set, and both ballasts were faulty right out of the box without any visible damage on packaging, trying to work something out with them now but not going well so far. Most of their positive feedback is from multiple purchases from the same people, something I wish I had looked into before purchasing. When I get things resolved I will never buy a cheap set again, and will purchase from someone within the US as well, return shipping (China) for warranty items cost $30+ before you receive replacement item and downtime is not worth the minor savings.
