Thoughts on titan vs. hemi ram

Im condsidering buying a titan king cab se. I'm wondering if I would be able to pull on hemis

Nothing would give me greater satisfaction

I have no issue with friendly banter etc over the trucks...and actually encourage owners looking at both trucks and thier features etc for comparison. What we don't encourage over here is the 'calling out' and the like. I for one can appreciate a nice looking and hard working truck for sure. In fact, I LOVE the Patriot Blue color you got there. A Titan in that color would make me drool.

I apoligize if I offended anyone. This is a Titan site and I was merely engaging in some good old fashion bragging fun that I'm sure many of the big three have done. I was only stating that blowing the wings off a Hemi was the deciding factor when I bought my Titan. I would also like to state that I have never been involved in any other Truck forum discussion. Unless looking for info on a potential buy I find it highly offensive that anyone would crash a site just to brag. The Titan is an awesome piece of engineering and I hope that the trend continues throughout the auto industry.

#1 Ton, you say you have $3,000 in mods including NOS. If a Titan gets NOS, It'll be quick too. So braging that you can run around titans is not comparing apples to apples. Now, if your Ram before the mods can run around a titan , then you have braging rights and some pink slips and I'm happy for you, but untill then, nock off the talk, It's not even a comparison.

Yep 3000 in mods, Your right its not a fair comparison at all. Also I just got my nos haven't had a chance to take it to the track yet. The 12's aren't with nos, I'm thinking I'm gonna be in the 11's with Nos, But if you wanted it apples to apples. We would half to throw 3000 LBS in the bed of you truck to make it fair after 3000 in mods. These Diesel's aren't no joke

My family would dis own me, If I bought a Titan My whole family workers for the Big three. If they where UAW built I would probably have one. Sorry but I'm a die hard union man.

Ya Id buy one if it was UAW built or at least consider it, Ive never drove one, I think they look different, I like different, Dodge is different, Id buy a Mazda 3 or 6 there UAW built In Flat rock MI Not to disrespect any one who is not union. But I think it's a more Quality Product Built UNION

i too am strong union man..local 12 operating engineers and my last 3 trucks were uaw chevy ....the titan is built in canton mississippi or massachusets one of those by americans... and it hands down cleans the clocks of any of the chevy/ford/dodges in stock trim...

Is Dodge much faster than Ford? My boss has a 03 250 SD, as you know it has turbo also. It's fast, but will not keep up with the Titan in a race.

High 12's=600 RWHP

High 12's is(must be 110mph or more) very quick for a 6900 lbs truck.I don't have a 1/4 mile conversion chart in front of me,but it must take at leat 600 RWHP to do that.You can get that out of a Cummins .What PSI do they use stock?If they use 7.5 psi stock,you could get in the 600 hp range with about 29 psi-a big boost.
Turbo Diesels have a huge advantage over spark engines because they can run very high boost with stock fuel.Most stock spark engines can go to maybe5-7 psi on 93 octane(about 30-45% increase in power),but after that they will detonate.It is relatively cheap to just jack up the turbo and fuel flow on a Turbo Diesel.No way can a "STOCK"spark engine double power as cheaply.
.Now stock vs stock-the Titan is faster than any Diesel pickup the Big Three make.Nothing against Diesels pickups,but I doubt the Big 3 make a Diesel pickup that is under 5500 lbs-a RC Ram 3/4 ton is probably the lightest.Luck,Charlie
PS I like the Hemi Ram,(almost bought a Quad cab)drove it before the Titan-they felt a lot alike.I bought the Titan because the Sidecurtain airbags were really impossible to find on the base pickup I could afford.I bought a XE KC 2WD-cost $22680+TTL.The Dodge dealers said they rarely saw a Side Curtain Hemi,and it was always loaded-MSRP ~38,000 selling for $31,000.The base Titan and Hemi Ram are both relatively cheap hot rod trucks~$20000 gets you 255 rwhp and a useful vehicle that can carry 6 people and a lot of cargo.

My next door neighbor waved me over this evening to look at the used truck his wife just bought. It is a used 2002 Ford F150 Harley Davidson, with 26k miles. We opened the hood, and it has a supercharged 5.4 liter. It is a 4 door
2 wd with 20" wheels. Good looking truck. Makes his 1974 F100 with the rust spots look pretty bad.

If he is lucky, she said she might let him drive it once in a while. :jester:

How fast will this truck be?
