I am new to the titan community, bough a 2011 SL 2WD with 103,000 miles about 4 months ago. I’m 18 and don’t have a large amount of mechanical knowledge.

I hear a distinct ticking noise (speed dependent) coming from under the truck at speeds below 15mph. On both acceleration and deceleration, turning and driving straight. I have done the 100,000 service and repaired much of the front brakes (pads rotors hubs and bearings). I check underneath the truck and the U joints look good. I have read many threads about this problem but have not seen an exact answer.

Any advice or help you can provide is much appreciated. Happy to be here.

first, make sure someone is not playing with you and put a zip tie or something on your driveshaft.

other than that, if its only at low speed, you should be able to lift the rear and secure it on jack stands and start it. put it in drive and let off the gas to see if it makes the noise still. if it does, making sure its still secured on the jackstands and blocks in front and rear of the front wheels, lay down off to the side and see if you can see where its coming from. if you cannot, and have to go under the truck while its in drive and on the stands, DO NOT lay in front of the wheels. if it comes off and rolls, do not be in their way. but you should be able to find the noise.

just make sure and not lay in front of the wheels so if it comes off the jack stands, you are still going to live with the all parts you currently have on your body working properly

I got under the truck again today and looked around near the drive shaft, and saw a seal that looked like it was broken or corroded. Do you know what this is?

2019 platinum reserve here, I had mine in a month ago for ticking, turned out it was the wheels. They got me 4 new ones under warranty. Turns out there is plastic in the chrome trim on the wheels, I think they had their air guns turned up too high and after an oil change they were clicking loudly. Probably not the same issue you have but figured I would post

Here’s a pic
wierd pic but pretty sure that is your carrier bearing, and yes it looks like trash. Move the driveshaft around, it shouldn't have much play.
