Ticking/Squeaking sound Gone!!

Yes!Finally got rid of the ticking/squeaking sound I've had for awhile now. It first sounded like a tick or sparking sound coming from under my dash near the glove box.I 've been trying to find the source for months, even drove around withe the glove box out. It seemed to only do it when the road was uneven, very windy, or during a long sweeping turn on the highway. It eventually turned into a squeaking noise under the same conditions. Well today when I was checking my trans fluid. I saw a worn shiny spot under my hood where the rear hood stops are,by the hinge. The stop had worn thru the paint so I knew it had to be rubbing. So I adjusted it so that it would not rub. Guess what the squeak is completely gone! Its funny because I could swear it was coming from the inside of the truck.I guess the sound transmits thru the firewall. I hope this may help someone else out there who has the same annoying sound I had :rollingsm

Thanks for the post. I have been suffering from a similar condition but on the driver's side. Would you tell me how you made the adjustment? Looks like you either screwed in or unscrewed the stopper to lower it, so that it would not come in contact with the hood? I already had my problem looked at by Nissan dealership, and their fix did not eliminate the problem. Thanks in advance.

I screwed it in about 1/4 turn with a 10mm socket. I suppose you can also put a piece of felt or plastic on the hood side to keep it from rubbing on the metal.
Thanks! I will experiment with that this weekend.
I scrwed it in about 1/4 turn as well, and so far so good! The noise that I was experiencing sometimes sounded like sheet metal rattling like failed weld spot. Sometimes, like a loose wiring harness tapping. It seems to be that the hood is supposed to be resting on these parts on both sides. I suppose either too much pressure or not enough pressure was causing the noise? Thanks again!
