A passenger rated tire belong at 35 to 44 psi, depending on the model. Light truck tires are another animal.
On road, my LT BFG AT KOs can be run anywhere between 35 and 65 psi. If you want their full 3195 lbs. capacity, it takes 65 psi. If you want them to meet the stock O.R. passenger rated capacity, (2,833 lbs.), then you need 53 or 54 psi. I run mine at 47 psi for daily - no load and they handle great. The plushness is not noticeably better at 35 psi.
In soft sand the BFG AT and probably the Toyo MT can be aired down to around 9 or 10 psi, but air up before you hit pavement. Don't do this with passenger rated tires, unless it is a one time type of deal.
