Titan Crew Cab Long Bed?

WHAT ABOUT LONG BED FOR CREW CAB?? I remember on FRONTIER, NISSAN came out with 5.5' box but soon afterward updated to 6'+. I really want a TITAN CREW CAB but hate the thought of giving up 1/2-1' in bed when I know I could get it in the wimpy but long Tundra Double Cab.

Wheelbase is same for TITAN as Tundra Double cab so I would think it would be easy to add 1' to back end.
I would Gladly wait 1 more year for Long bed but not likely 2-3.

Anybody hear anything credible?
:p

i agree ,a long bed crew cab would be nice but a 2-3 year wait would be discouraging.
The wait is over. Although I think the long bed looks corny. Nissan will have a tough time converting over to a "work" truck.

It has more bling bling so the long bed will be interesting.

At least someone might be able to hook up a 5th wheel. Does the new long beds have the right suspension setup for a 5th wheel?
Holy old thread Batman!

(Did you really need to bring this up?)
I've not found anything that says if the long bed will support a 5th wheel trailer. What have you heard? Is your truck long bed? I will never again drive a long bed. They are a pain in the arse.
shouldn't you be looking toward a 3/4 ton or 1 ton truck if you have a 5th wheel?
Like an F250 or something?
Is there anything other than spring rating to make a truck a 3/4 ton or 1 ton?
If not then it's an easy change.

I had both, a short and long bed Frontier. The short bed always looked wrong to me and my long bed was great. As far as the Titan goes I prefer the short beds look although I could use the longer version more.

Well that is what I'm wondering also. I think with the tow power the Titan might be able to handle pulling the weight. Is the long bed able to handle a 5th wheel? Your right -- the F250 is setup with the heavier duty springs and equipment. Could the Titan have a retrofit that would make it work for a small 5th wheel?
A 5th wheel doesn't have to be heavy. As long as it doesn't exceed the cargo weight it is fine. The biggest advantages of the 5th wheel are the tight turning radius, and that it tows better than a regular hitch.
The weight issue is true. But I have heard that you not only need to be setup underneath -- you also need to have the right brake setup.
It's got to be more than brakes, springs and shocks - an HD can weight thousands more than a standard truck.

I would love the room of a CC w/ long bed, but driving and parking - I don't know...
The long bed, (7ft for the CC, and 8ft for the KC), will have a longer wheelbase and more payload. For the 4x4 XE the current payload is 1,349 lbs. for the 2008 4x4 XE the payload is 1,914 lbs. (565 lbs. more), based upon a Motor-Trend video I saw at another site, and the nissanusa site for the current payload.

Bigger brakes too on all '08 models. No more 17" wheels will be offered or even possible aftermarket.

3/4 T and 1T pickups are made heavier, frames, larger axles, front/rear ends, springs, U-Joints, steering linkages and associated components

Which is why they can tow Toy Haulers and 5th wheels better?
At least 2 manufacturers make a 5th wheel hitch - Reese and Pull Rite. Pull Rite will run you about $3,000 installed. The Reese, about $1,500. You need a 6 1/2' box though. Forget a 5th wheel with the Crew Cab folks.
