So a while back my back seat got into a fight with a dog and lost, so now it's time to get it repaired. I take it to a wellknown upholsterer and they are trying to color match it and cannot. The guy takes a closer look and says this isn't leather, it's vinyl. Seriously, Yep it's vinyl, he has two other guys come check it out and they all agree its vinyl, because it has a fabric backing on it and leather doesn't. So he's calling the dealership on monday to find out more about it, then he'll let me know. Any one else run into this situation. Here are a couple of bad photos.

AFAIK, only the middle of the seat is actual leather. The rest is Vinyl.

I think I remember it being said that only the center section of the seat is leather and maybe the back center of the backside. The back seats (at least King Cab) are 100% vinyl i think.

*edit* rvandam beat me too it!

my acura CL was the same way, leather in the center of the seat and headrest but vinyl on the sides. as the leather aged and broke in it became more obvious where the vinyl sections were

My 05 LE titan's leather came apart on the corners at 10,000 miles. I had to write a letter to the dealership and nissan to get them to replace under warranty. The leather is a low quality top die leather only on the sides and nice leather in the middle. I had pics. if I can find them and I could post if you like, but the sides were leather, because underneath the grey was the beige color of leather....

hence why I don't own "leather" and went with "cloth".... if leather is painted, they will usually have a leather/vinyl match as they can paint the leather to match the vinyl.... sucks, don't it? I'd rather get the cloth seats, then some aftermarket slip ons (only if they fit properly). I learned on my Jeep that leather can be a PITA to repair, and expensive. The vinyl sides will crack and dry out, no matter how well you take care of it, because you slide across it each time you get in/out....

Its a sad day for Titan owners. Well maybe just for me, I always thought the seats were covered with leather all the way thru but I guess they gotta cut corners somewhere.

This is the reason why I didn't go with the LE either. I want real leather, not f**king vinyl.
