Lets take this..


And put the Motor/Tranny in this..


I've never taken on a project such as this. The swaps I've done were from the one car into another nearly justl ike it.

So for you wrench turners, what parts would I have to transfer over? I know the VK56 is electric controlled so would I need to move over the pedels, guage cluster, and brake system?

ECU, TCM, All sensors and wiring, and possibly even the BCM

Why not put it in your Bronco? At least then it'd be WORTH something. :D

Seriously though, Casey's right. It's not a project I'd like to tackle, sounds like a LOT of work.

Well reason I ask is I have the options to get my hands onto a wrecked titan that was involved in a rollover accident. After I checked it out for 30min, the motor, tranny, axles, dash, seats, headlights, taillights, tailgate, bumper (rear) are all good. I can get it for $1k. Then I thought well it'll take more than a buff and a few parts to make that titan look new so why not throw it in a old classic?

I may take the challenge on. And if it does pan out to be too hard to handle. I'll just scrap everything. At least I can get more for the motor than what I paid for the whole package.

Well lets see.. if a truck sits in a yard unclaimed for over 30 days, it becomes property of the yard (the tow company who towed the truck). This Titan has been in the yard for nearly 40 days, thus meaning the yard owns it. Now I am close friends (nearly family) with the owners of the tow company thus meaning I can get the truck for tow/title/space cost. $200 bucks on their end profit and everyone wins.

I swear some of you guys are either jealous of others, or just flat out immature. Either way you guys should grow up, you're grown men.

That would be kind of pointless IMO. Yes you'd probably have the only vk56 powered blazer out there, but with the little aftermarket support the Titan's have it wouldn't be a very good idea. I'd rather have a SBC.BBC over the VK56 anyday, yeah the VK has more power stock, but there is so much aftermarket support for SBCs and BBCs that you could have a much sweeter truck for way less money if you used the stock engine/tranny in the blaze. And less electronics= less problems in mud and water.

See I was thinking the same, lack of aftermarket parts would just keep it the way it is..however I'm not much of a mod kinda person. It'd just be cool to have that kind of instant power in an older truck for just a couple grand. And a good project ontop of that.

I've been searching craigslist for trucks built in the 80s that have a bad motor but good body and frame to work on. This could be a pretty neat project if everything fits and goes right.
