Ok I have a 2008 titan pro-4x 400ish on the odometer, normal doesn’t give me any problems until last Tuesday driving down the road it wouldn’t really accelerate with any kind of pressure it would start sputtering and I could hear it popping in the exhaust let off of it a bit and would keep going but if you try to push it over 2000 rpm or 55 ish it loses its mind again. Light came on I swung through the parts house the code was the awesome p0300 got it home checked the maf and there was a fly stuck on the element cleaned it up still acting up. Tested the maf with a ohmmeter and grabbed a new one still acting up. Checked the fuel pressure it was 47psi changed the fuel pump. New ngk plugs and boots. Tested coils they seem to be normal. I don’t know what else to do with it no codes other than p0300. I’ve spent 3 days going through the forums I don’t know clearly I’m missing something. In advance any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Nissan Code P0300 Common Diagnosis Mistakes
Loose fitting electrical connectors and broken or disconnected vacuum hoses are often overlooked.

Hope this helps.

Nissan code P0300 indicates that one or more cylinders are experiencing misfires. A misfire occurs when an insufficient amount of fuel is burning in a cylinder. The efficient burning of fuel is essential to engine operation as the combustion of fuel is what provides the energy to power the engine in your Nissan. A misfire from one or more cylinders can be caused by many reasons from a faulty ignition system, fuel system or internal engine failure. When P0300 occurs it should be fixed immediately as long term driving with engine misfires could cause consequential damage to the engine in your Nissan. Many times P0300 occurs when there are worn out spark plugs, or a faulty ignition coil.

I’ve got a vacuum/pressure gage so I’ll try to check them with that, they are in such an place to get to. I didn’t really think about checking them because it wasn’t a gradual problem it was all of a sudden. But I can’t rule it if I don’t check. Thank you

Ok so anyone having the same issue or issues here you go. So today the weather wasn’t the Florida monsoon season so I got out the jack put it on some stands ( not necessary just like the room) and unbolted the rear cats, before you worry about taking one down unbolt both of them and slide back where the exhaust pipes run next to each other on the hanger and you can slide the back part of the exhaust back just enough to get both cats to slide right out and the rest is still on the hangers. Well the front cat guts fell out of the rear cat so fair to say garbage. It was about a 1/4 of the front one that broke loose and pulled the old banana in the tail pipe gag. Passengers side fine however gutted them vacuumed out the front cats to make sure nothing was in there, grabbed 2 packs of spark plug anti foulers for the 02 sensors just in case. I pulled the plugs and ran my Milwaukee scope into the cylinders look good, I know that for emissions there is a split second that the intake and exhaust valves are open at the same time so in theory that would cause a vacuum in the exhaust so wanted to make sure. Look I get it nobody wants their cats to go bad but they do it took 45 minutes and a little PB blaster to pull them and “clean” them. Also ran down to the local shop had them check the fuel trims and 02 everything looked good. Hope this helps someone else’s blood pressure.

Also before I dropped them I ran to harbor freight and grabbed a $13 vacuum gauge kit good deal actually and hooked it to the master cylinder vacuum hose. At idle perfect vacuum not terrible at 2500 but when you brought it up to 2000 and snapped their it was. Didn’t really see a point in pulling the 02 and testing there it takes just about the same time to look at them as it would to soak the 02 and take it out.
