Titan Tire Pressure Sensors

Does all Titan Comes with a tire pressure sensor requarless of the model and will the sensor still work if you were to move the rims from an SE model to an XE model. I was thinking of buying a LE or SE rims with the sensor and just put it in my XE, will i have to take it to the dealer and tell them to help me reset the sensor?

I believe all Titans had this as standard equipment. By 2010 ALL cars will be required to have it. And I believe you will need to have the TPMS recalibrated when you do the switch. They should work, but I would think only after recalibration.
Like he said. Just take it to the dealer to have the computer learn the new sensors, and all should be good. Or, take the sensors out of the XE rims to put into the SE rims.

All Titans have the sensors. If you're swapping wheels, just swap the sensors as well and you'll be ok.
this is off topic but kind of not. when i go on long trips (100-300 miles) my pressure sensor light goes on. but when i turn the truck off and then back on, it goes off. why is that?
My 04 TPMS light comes on every morning on the way to work, (good reason to call in) the trip is about 45mi., but it does not come on when i return home. On my way home from the track with my drag radials on, no sensors in the racing wheels, about a 75mi. trip, the light never came on. Some say when there light comes on they have a buzzer also, my truck does not have a buzzer, if it does it has never sounded off.
The 04-05 have a light and buzzer sound for low psi, light only indicate a malfunction of the TPMS system.

The 06 and newer have a light on only (no buzzer sound) for low psi, if the light flashes for one minute at start up and stay on it's an indication of TPMS system malfunction.

Either the sensors are missing from your wheels or there is a problem with the TPMS.

I put my sensors on my aftermarket rims, but when I put the stock rims on without the sensors I would get exactly what you described. No indication on short trips but after 80 miles or so the light would come on.
I had a blow out over the weekend and the spare doesnt have a sensor, so i enjoyed the buzzer on my 05...

/sarcasm
Personally, I think the sensors are stupid. They'll do nothing for you if you have a sudden blow out, and if you can't see a tire that's losing air, you should take the bus! With that said, mine will come on in the fall after a cool night. I have to up the pressures a few LBS and they're fine. I still say they came about because too many window lickers didn't know enough to periodically check their tire pressures. Sad.

Is that was the (! with the horseshoe around it) is that came on after I put on my new rims and tires today?

Where is the sensor on stock rims and tires?
The sensor is inside the rim attatched to the inside protion of the valve stem.
My sister is one of those who doesn't know to check her tire pressure until I told her that her tire was low; therefore, she bought an Altima after she got married because she no longer lives with me to remind her to check her tires or that I inflated one of her tires again. In 2010, all vehicles will have TPMS standard as a new Federal regulation.

Ok, thats what I figured. What about the idiot light on my dash, is that the the sensor light?

Sorry, I dont have my manual here.
The light on the dash is a cross cut of a tire with an exclamation point in the center of it. If is comes on, it's detecting one or more tires are below a specific pressure. Yes, that light is operated by the sensors in the wheels. On LE/GPS equipped models, I believe it shows the actual pressures of each tire like the wifes Quest does.

So what can I do, I didn't put the sensors in the new rims and tires and more than likely wont. Is there anyway to clear the code without it coming back, or is it just something thats always going to be on.
cut a small square piece of black electrical tape, sit in the driver's seat, put the tape over that annoying light, blocking it's glow and it is fixed... but seriously, I don't think there is an override for that sensor light...
same problem here, light is on now that aftermarkets are on, sold my stock wheels w sensors. The light did not come on for 2 months after new wheels were on, but now light is always on. no "fix" to let the light go off?

I believe if you take it to the dealer, they can program the ECU to turn the sensors off.
