I dont have a solution to that but I know why. I got a 2006 with a 6" lift and I went thru 2 transmission mounts in three months. The dealer says that the lift puts stress on the mounts and therefore, they break. Did you have a big "thump" when you accelerated?
Any pics??
No sorry, im new to this

okay, here goes #2 tranny mount ripped... first one ripped around 14k mark, this one made it for another 20k before tearing... I was just wondering with such a simple design, someone should be able to fabricate a more durable mount... either a semi solid rubber core, that allows the flex needed, yet maintaining decent structural integrity or even a possible metal coil style mount, allows flex and yet retains the rigidity when needed. I checked on the part from the stealership and it runs $90-100, I'd imagine fabricating something would prob run just about the same, not much more though. Here are some pics I snapped of my ripped #2 mount... hopefully the third will live a little longer...

#2) Driver's side
#3) Front Driver's side
#4) Front
#5) Zoomed Front

hey guys i have the same damn problem trans mount is hooped.. but i was talkin to my dealer manager and they are using PRO-COMP suspension limiting straps to wrap around the trans and bolt on to the trans mount bolts. i guess they are helping stop the trans mount from lifting to breaking limits. i dunno if this realy works but nissan has been doing it on all the newer lifted trucks and havent had a issue yet. what do you guys think.. im gona try it out.,
OK fellas...Your lifts are not whats causing your mounts to break. It's the torque/axle wrap thats doing it. The cure all is traction bars. I had a cracked mount and installed the PRG Off Road traction bars, and the "Thump" was gone even with a cracked mount. I did replace the mount... WHAT A PITA! The swap wouldn't be so bad if the mount didnt have the long studs. With the long studs (guide studs) you have to lower the crossmember to replace the mount. You cant just unbolt the tranny from the mount and lift the tranny up, doesnt go high enough. Ever since installing my T-Bars and the new mount, the new mount is still in one piece. The thump you hear and feel is the tranny hitting the cab.

WTF! the dealer is using a suspension limiting strap to hold the tranny down!...What kinda hooky crap is that! Just spend the coin and get the T-Bars...problem solved. And your T will launch soo much better..lol
At my dealership we have replaced on the 4X4-24 this year, but on the 4x2-0.
man those traction bars are expensive. who else makes them besides procomp and prg?

Yep I've heard of ZERO 4x2 mounts failing. Heck they're 2x as tall. lol

...sorry to resurrect an old thread, but this is what I'm dealing with...I've got a 6" lift and the driveshaft hits the tunnel under WOT.

Guess I'm going to have some long bars fabbed up and maybe lower the trans mount a little bit and hope that does the trick.

I got my first lift a month after I bought my Titan.

Will installing the Deaver C-10 leaf pack alone help with protecting the tranny mount? PRG claims the Deaver leaf pack helps with axle wrap, I'm sure not as much as the traction bars, but I really don't want to spend $500 on traction bars and I've already been considering the Deaver leaf pack. If the Deaver pack will prolon the life of the tranny mount it helps justify buying them...anyone have an opinion on this?

The deaver pack will help, but I think the traction bars are the best solution for axle wrap. If it was my decision between the two items, I would purchase the traction bars then save for the deaver pack purchase at a later time... just my opinion though...

Didn't help me at all, still needed traction bars

Noticed my tranny mount is cracked again, and it only lasted 20K miles, but the worst part is that I had to pay for the part out of pocket this time, as my extended warranty is over.

Saturday, [edit pushed out two weeks], Greg will be installing traction bars on my Titan ... I had to learn my lesson the hard way. Should have got them right after Nissan replaced the mount. :bangit:

The new mount won't go on until after the PRG traction bars are on. I'm getting the street bars, as they are less expensive and still provide plenty of travel and strength.
