It's amazing how well the Titan did considering the circumstances. I saw this on my Z website.

Apparently the Titan was in between two 18 wheelers (front/back), traffic came to a stop from 70mph. The rig behind him had fallen asleep.

The driver only suffered a dislocated shoulder, neck, back injuries and some bumps and scrape. In light of what happened thats not bad. It's good to know you're pretty well protected in the T.

Damn! That is one mangled T! Definitely makes you appreciate having 6ft crumple zones in front and back of you.

I'm sorry to bust your bubble but if that Titan was rear-ended between two semi's, the Titans cab did not stop any of the inertia created by the semi that rear-ended it. I'd more likely say the occupants were lucky the semi didn't have a little more momentum or it would've crushed it like a aluminum can. That's just reality. My loaded truck trailer combo usually gross around 79,500lbs to 80,000lbs compared to average Titan weight of say 5400lbs. There is no cab on any regular production vehicle that can withstand the full crushing force of a rear-end or head-on from a semi. I'd say they were lucky its momentum pooped out when it did. Great pics and very lucky occupants though.

Looks like the only thing he could part out would be the driver's seat..likely highly soiled..

Since both trucks were moving in traffic; first one braking and the second Semi didn't brake, that is why they were able to survive. Not same as hitting a brick wall, but still a testimony to the well designed Titan body/frame. 5 Star Frontal IIRC. Nasty experience for all involved, amazing he got out of that.

Yeah that's just dumb luck.... sure the truck is safer than a tuna can, but throw either in a car crusher and they'll both come out flat.

At first i thought this was going to be a racing kill thread....

fortunate luck for the occupants, good thing it wasn't a smart car.
