2004 nissan titan 4x4

last night, pulling into drive way the truck shut off. tried to restart it turned over and tried to start but sputtered. kept trying, let it sit for 15 minutes ,it finally started. thinking it was bad gas i drove to work. It did it again this time not restarting. Towed to dealer, dealer can't figure it out because no code is showing up. dealer says the fuel pump "seems to working" whatever that means. gas looks ok. any help would be great, got a camping trip planned on sunday so need it fixed or I'm renting a ford to tow my trailer.

here's the latest, after 2 days at dealership, dealership and nissan think it is a bad engine control module. put new one on, problem solved. i drive it 6 miles shut off for a few minutes. won't start. after 30 minutes, it starts and runs fine. drive back to dealer keep it running. they shut it off and turn it on and it runs great. service manager drives it about 5 miles and it shuts down. fuel pump is said to be working

I was driving down the highway about 80 and my truck just stoped running. I pulled to the side and it wouldnt start so I had it towed to the dealer. They said it was a fuel pump relay....... and replaced the fuel pump....... 2 days later my wife when to take my truck for a quick trip to the store and it wouldnt start..... I was going to have it towed in the morning but when I went out there to try it again it started but with a little flooded smell... hasnt done it again..........yet

Mine quit while i was doing about 90 - same thing as you but when i got it to the side of the road, it cranked in "limp mode" so I drove it 3 miles at 10mph to the Nissan place and when I Cranked it back up Vroom - no problem full power - Service guy laughed - :jester: haha - that was a year ago - never happened again and no Check engine light.....:teethmast

Its the IPDM-ER (intelligent power distributuion module - engine room) actually quite common for titan no start issues. It will crank over, have fuel pressure. Have seen fuel pumps replaced, ignition modules replaced, almost every electronic part in the truck replaced and always turns out to be the IPDM-ER. It appears that the ecm relay craps out. Parts about $500.00 depending what dealer you go to.

Well ive had my 2004 titan SE King Cab for 5 years now and its been a great truck, had a few issues but could always find the problem to fix it on here even when the garage couldnt, but this time im stumped!! The the other day i was at my sisters house fixing my nephews sled, i jumped in the truck, started it up and went home. An hour lady my wife and i went to go out for supper so we jumped in the truck and nothing, not a pop!!! battery full, everything works as normal but wont crank, no previous signs of starter trouble, i replaced ecm relay last year but it would crank with that gone just wouldnt start, checked all fuses, none blown. i refuse to think its the starter with no warning. clicking coming from under the dash?? whats that about? Thats the only noise. its been a week now and im tired of riding in my wifes civic, getting frustrated!!! read something also about the ignition switch?? seen also how to test but looked like u needed a masters in electrical, SOMEONE HELP ME BEFORE I LOSE MY **** PLEASE!!!

Hey guys,

I'm having a problem with my 04 titan. Yesterday I was driving approx. 75 mph down the highway when my truck stalled out, I tried for an hour to start it back up with NO LUCK. I had to have it towed to the only open mechanic at Firestone, which cost around $63, not too bad. When I got it there it started right up and they were able to drive it to the rack, then after about 20 mins it stalled out again. They ran a diagnostic for about 3 hours on it, only found a code for a O2 sensor. They also put a new crank position sensor in, nothing had changed, the truck would crank forever but not start. The mechanics approached me baffled, they had no idea what was wrong with it. The battery was brand new, it had an oil change the week before, the engine had fuel so fuel pump idea was tossed out. They literally have no idea, I have been searching the internet and only found the IPDM problem. I have not tried this but does anyone have any ideas? Thank you so much guys::crying::
