Here is a video from a member on CT. He was running 14.0X forever with 07+ exhaust with 2 spintec mufflers. Now he's running just straight pipe after the headers with 2 14" magnaflows and ran a 13.7. He has NO X pipe or Y pipe on his truck. We argue on here about the X or the Y being better and now we have a member running this....LOL

I think your AF's should be fine, maybe a bit more lean due to increased flow, but shouldn't be harmfully lean... I imagine for testing purposes, it should be fine and demonstrate the loss or gain... If anything, -.1 with current tune could mean better once you get a retune... just hate to see a +.1, then we know too much flow is bad... ;) look forward to your runs and results!

I have a bad habit of getting off topic lol. Sounds like a good way to test it deerslayer. Just run cipher for both tests, you'll be able to see if it leaned you up or richened you up. I don't guess there will be hardly any difference in tune. It'll be good to see what it does for you
O.K boys I couldn't wait here's the results using cipher and data logging all 4 0-60 runs. I did 2 runs with Y pipe and 2 runs with straight pipe off headers. Ran the y pipe setup then came home cut it off and went to town:)
REMEMBER ALL TESTS WERE DONE ON THE SAME ROAD, SAME EXACT SPOT
Run #
1. Y pipe 6.10 Afr's 12.3-13.1..........DA of 2200

2. Y pipe 6.12 Afr's 12.2-13.2..........Da of 2200

3. 2.25" straight pipe with borla pro xs 6.05 Afr's 12.3-13.3........DA of 2197

4. 2.25" straight pipe with borla pro xs 5.99 Afr's 12.4-13.3........DA of 2190

I can tell you this they sound F-IN amazing even w/out the dump pipe I'm going to put on. They pull hard as hell and the shift even feels firmer. The ECU hasn't even learned the new air yet and it still outperformed my old setup. I'll be posting track results hopefully this Friday weather pending.

Also one more thing, if I gained performance in the 0-60 I can promise you that it will only get better from 60-100 being opened up:)

Thanks DS! I think this just confirmed that I will be doing a true 2.5" to 3" dual exhaust system later this summer... JBA shorties w/ extended HF Cat B pipes, to true dual 2.5" pipes w/ some single chamber or race mufflers, undecided yet... ;) exits to the rear... make it look old school yet thunderous!!!
Think they should be ban!!

Had me all pumped up. But I did put down a Honda Ridgeline at the light that was game, the dude thought he could mess with a Titan.. 65 mph and 3 truck length, silly driver said he had a blower but needs tuning. Sounded like it had something like a large leaf blower when he hit the gas. He wouldn't let me look under the hood.

L
LOL!! Not the Ridgeline thread!!
Good work DS! You might be on to something? Im interested now to see what the str8 pipes will do @ the track!
I had true duals put on my 2010 Titan with no x pipe or y pipe and it runs great. It comes straight off the headers to the cats and then the mufflers.

So you are running true duals? Each side to a separate muffler and exit, not a 2 in / 2 out muffler, otherwise that's just a huge X way down line... 'cause that's basically what I am currently running by having my dual pipes merge at the 3" muffler inlet then exit through the two outlets... Huge X down line, still restricts true free flow, but deamn it sounds good... ;)

Hot damn that's moving. :D

Yes! Get me some 60-100 results! I can't wait to see how those have improved with this setup.
Sweet DS! That's great news definitely going to change what i do when I get these shortys put on :)

Are you going to run OEM Cats, HF Cats, or No Cats with those headers? I'm about to order a set of MF HF Cats in the next month, for replacing primary cats, then run straight B Pipes for performance and hollow B Pipes for Smog Inspection... ;)
Straight pipes into the 2 berk b pipes into 22" maggy 3" out

Call me crazy but my bottom end tq feels better. Maybe the 2.25/3 was a bottle neck. Getting reso tips today.

The y pipe itself is just an inferior design, you know how I feel about y pipes lol. Nice gains bro! The least amount of bends you have in the exhaust the faster velocity aswell.

No merging together true dual each pipe is separate and exits on each side of my truck. I can take pics if you want. I think it sounds great.

I don't see why anyone would run any setup other than separate duals through a nice x-pipe or true duals.

Should probably also hack up your headers and weld up a burns merge collector to it.

I'm assuming all the headers for you guys trucks are 4-1?

Yep, Except for the DT's are a Tri-Y set up.

Thorleys are the tri y design.
