Hey guys I need Help, i purchase a tow bar (stowmaster) to tow my wifes tahoe from New York to Miami.
Its that a good towbar?
What class and type of receiver should i get?
any help is appreciated i am new to this. Thanks
Pardon my ignorance but is a tow bar something you attach to your hitch and then to the Tahoe’s front bumper? If so, is the Tahoe 4-wheel drive? I don’t think you can tow a 4-wheel drive vehicle with all its wheels on the ground. If its not 4-wheel drive, do you need to put an auxiliary transmission cooler with an electric pump on the Tahoe or stop every 100 miles and start the Tahoe and run it for a few minutes to cool its transmission?
I guess if you’ve got all the basses covered with the transmission you would need to purchase a class IV hitch. The following thread should give you some good advice about purchasing the OEM hitch and relays:
And whatever you do there must be pictures to post on the Chevy forum.... along with a made up story about how you pulled the thing out of a ditch.... or better yet just up a small hill that it got stuck on :jester:
