Check your spare, chances are it does not have a sensor stem in it. Don't think your idea will work, I think the 'antenna', for the lack of a better word, for each wheel is located on the truck chassis fairly close to the tire.
TPMS question - more than 5 sensors?
Can you add 2 more sensors to the TPMS? I'd like to take advanatage of the truck having them and add a set to my trailer. I've seen aftermarket ones which allow this.

You can buy another sensor for spare but the BCM will only reconz 4 sensor at 1 time.
You might want to buy a aftermarket brand for trialer maybe that would work but not for the Nissan system..
