This is my first vehicle with TPS and I notice if I check the tire pressures with a standard digital tire gauge it reads 3 - 4 psi higher than what the dashboard tire pressures reads. To get the 36 psi on the dashboard readout I have to put 39 - 40 PSI on the handheld digital gauge. I have tried two handheld gauges thinking it was faulty but reads the same.

Do all these TPS systems have accuracy issues or can they be adjusted?

I purchased an Accu Gage (RA60X) on Amazon - a little pricey but worth it - had to get a tire pressure gauge with a right angle chuck because of my after market wheels - This gauge and TPMS dash display readings are exactly the same.

My digital gauge always read about 3 PSI higher than the TPMS sensors. One of them had to be wrong. Heck if I know which one it was. So I set them to 38 when using the digital gauge.

For all the Colorado guys, keep in mind that high altitude can affect TPMS readings. My 350Z readings are consistently 3 lbs lower than what my air gauges show. That problem goes away when I'm at sea level. So It's a problem with all Nissans, not just the Titan!

David, I'm not driving to sea level just to check that my gauge and the TPMS agree at that elevation. :D

How did your racing season go?

Hey Jim- just wanted to assure all Titan owners that the TPS will be off at high altitude, and that it remains a consistent issue for all Nissans.

Unfortunately, my 2017 race season was deleted after I had a big testing accident at High Plains Raceway in a twin turbo sports coupe last December. It's no exaggeration to say it almost put me six feet under and that 2017 has been a year for recovery from multiple injuries.

David, I'm sorry to hear that you got laid up due to an accident on the track. That's a bummer.

Thanks Jim, and not to take this thread too far OT, the good news is most of my injuries are healing. It looks like I'll get medical clearance to be back to racing in 2018! Part of 2017 has been spent inspecting and refreshing the Titan.
