I didn't realize this was such a pervasive problem until it happened to me. One of my hosed blew last weekend. Had the truck towed today in to my favorite shop, where they replaced the hoses and clamps, and added fluid. All good.

Until yesterday (six days later).

Was driving down the highway when it happened again. Had it towed back to the same shop, where they are now looking at it. They said that one of the new hoses split!

My questions:

1. Is there a special hose needed, or would whatever standard kind of hose that this (non-Nissan) shop likely used suffice?

2. If it wasn't just an odd coincidence that a *second* hose failed, is it possible that something in my transmission is causing excessive pressure in the lines, that's blowing the hoses?

Thanks!

Yup, saw that thread. Thanks. I'm more interested in the second question: is there something that would cause the high pressure (since I've blown two hosed now)? The other thread didn't address this, I don't think.

All I can tell you is Nissan makes specific, pre-formatted lines. My advice is either use thise, or use legit transmission line. Assumption that your trusted shop knows what to do it unwise. Confirmation is your friend.

The new lines are transmission lines. I looked at them, and they've got a legend imprinted on them. I don't know that the ones they put on last week were right, but this week's are definitely transmission hoses. I guess the next few days will be telling. Thanks for the help, guys.
