I'm sorry if this is the wrong area to post, I'm new to the site but I need a little light shed on my titan.

I have a 04 with 150xxx on the dash. A month ago my transmission started slipping only in high rpms, or whenever I pulled a trailer. I brought it to the local dealership and they couldn't diagnos a problem so I assumed it wasn't something to worry about, I stopped pulling a trailer and the problem stopped. Yesterday my transmission started slipping hard through all gears with low rpms, it all happened within 100ft of driving, soon after the slipping I lost all gears and I had smoke trailing my truck. When I pulled over I seen transmission fluid all over my truck pretty bad. I got it to the dealership and I should know the problem next week but its killing me to know so anybody ever have this problem? I googled as much as I could and I'm almost certain that the tranny cooler line that goes to my radiator is what gave out, but what puzzles me is why I lost all gears. I couldn't find any information on if losing all of my fluid would cause me to lose my gears. Would I of lost my transmission that soon after losing oil? I've never had oil in my driveway so I know i haven't been driving without any in the tranny. Am I looking at a new transmission or did my problem happen because of the hose blowing? Any help is appreciated

No fluid=no drive. Hopefully you didn't kill the pump, but since it was slipping before I'd say it's probably whipped.

Since you drove it till it stopped moving the clutch packs and pump are probably shot. Losing a transmission line is just detrimental. You have to pull over and stop immediately and unfortunately its not always instantly apparent that it has even occurred.

Especially the the clutches at 150,000 miles.....all that slipping before and during your fluid spill probably wiped them out.

The trucks my first big purchase so I got an extended warranty that will replace my transmission. Before my titan I drove a 96 Silverado that could never hold transmission fluid and it still drove so I couldn't wrap my head around it on my titan. But thanks for the input guys

Nissan replaced my oil cooler line thinking this would fix the problem, but it still wouldn't move, which didn't surprise me. But before the line busted I brought my titan in twice about my transmission slipping because I was 500 miles from my extended warranty being up and I knew something was up, they kept sending me on my way but I had my insurance company make a note of it. 1000 miles over my warranty is whenever the line busted, but I'm still catching hell from my insurance company. Because I'm 20 I'm sure there trying to drag this out and make it as expensive as they can on me so I'll just let the truck go back. They told me if I had it towed to a transmission shop and tore apart that if there was damage they would replace it. But the process has been way jacked from the start, Its a grueling headache. I still haven't heard from the transmission shop, I don't think my trucks even touched the rack yet. But I'm certain something broke inside my transmission, is there anything else that would cause it to not move, I'm terrified they'll find a loophole and I'll have to pay notes on my titan with it parked in my driveway.

I'll update hopefully soon with good news.
Thanks

That's brutal man. This is why I don't trust aftermarket warranties.

I don't quite understand how your insurance is involved though or why they would have anything to say about any of this. I could see the bank being interested since the truck is their collateral. Yet this shouldn't matter to the insurance company.

Well the clutches are gone, the insurance company stuck it to me. They won't cover it. Yesterday I found a tranny from a 07 for 350$, it has a lot of miles but the alternative was 1300$ for a rebuild. Hopefully it'll get me A-B until I have the money

So everything has been way drawn out and overcomplicated with my new used transmission I got. Because of work I haven't had much time to put towards my truck.I got the transmission stabbed, everythings hooked up and ready to rock but I've found a snag that's got me scratching my head.

I've done as much googling as I could, I need some direction on this one. My transmission shift cable is giving me trouble, everything is fine on the column, the bushing is brand new. I had a tranny shop pull the transmission initially because I thought I could afford for them to do the work, along the way I'm almost positive I'm missing a bracket that holds the shift cable to my transmission. I've looked around for any info on the bracket, or if there's any quick fixes without it but I'm lost.
Anybody know the part, give me a link or some advice would be greatly appreciated guys.

Go to CourtesyParts.com and drill down into the parts diagrams. You should be able to find that part that way. That is the site I use to figure stuff out.
