No clunking noises coming from the transmission when you shift? It may just be wiring issues with the harness in the console itself, the reason why I say this is because I just recently converted my 2004 from a column shifter to a center console shifter and the wiring is very delicate. Pop open the center console and take a look inside, perhaps the coil solenoid has gone bad which is not allowing you to shift the truck. The design between the column and console shifters are practically identical, and it could very well be an electrical issue more than a mechanical issue inside the transmission itself.

Sounds more like the solenoid that operates to lock and unlock that shifter is either dead, or isn't getting input from the brake pedal. Might check the wiring up at your brake pedal and make sure you haven't had a connector come loose. You should be able to feel and hear that solenoid through the shifter as it actuates. If you can't that's probably the place to start trouble shooting.
I figured I had the right idea! :teethmast:
