I have a 2005 4x4 Crew Cab Big tow. 109,000 miles. Its 57 degrees here. I noticed my trans temp gauge stays at a hair above the cold mark. Even driving on the highway, around town, etc. Odd cause I remember the gauge would always stay 1/4 of the way up once the engine reached temperature. Back in November, drove a 900 mile trip and most all of the way was a hair above cold. Only a couple times did it move slightly more. Any thoughts? (I have owned this since new)

It sounds like the temp sensor may need to be replaced. I looked at the transmission diagram a couple months back and it looked like there were two but I couldn't nail down where to find two, only one. I don't know how difficult this would be to replace. The transmission pan has to come off for sure.

I am really shocked that nobody has had to replace a Trans temp sensor and have experience on the procedure/cost. I am thinking this can't be normal what mine is doing.

You're the first one I've heard of with transmission temperature sensor/gauge issues. You're unique!
