I have a 2015 crew cab, short box Titan Pro4x. We are currently looking to purchase a cap to do some camping/biking with and are discovering how few options are available for our truck.
We want a streamlined, frameless cap and so far the ARE Z series is our first pick. The problem is they make a plastic cover that fits over the tailgate cap attached to the rear glass door for other Brands like Ford and Chev but not for Nissan. For Nissan they are just using a rubber strip that will ultimately just sit on top of the tailgate cap.
I've tried to find an aftermarket tailgate cap that doesn't have the fin with no luck other than Lund and Pacer which make a universal rubber strip you can stick on and trim. (not an option I like).
I've also looked at:
LEER 100XQ - Side window look odd as they go all the way to the back of the cab (anyone have this and have pics of their own to share?)
Century Royal - They have external brackets on the rear glass for the Titan
Raider Phantom - Same issue as ARE with no plastic cap to go over the tailgate cap for a nice fit
Has anyone had any experience with the ARE cap or other equivalent brands? How was the fit and finish? What were your frustrations finding the right cap for your Titan? Any suggestions of another cap that may provide the same clean look?
