I'm thinking about getting the low profile Truxedo tonneau cover with the utilitrack clamps. I've read a few posts from people who installed them on their Crewcabs. But what about the Kingcab? Is a screw, or something else required in the middle?

Yes if you have the utili-track set up you will need a screw for the middle of the frame, if you want to be able to slide your bed accesories. The clamp whould be in the way. :)

I installed the Truxedo on my Kingcab a couple days ago and yes the middle clamp would hinder movement of the accessories. For me it was not a big deal but it could be for others.

Another note..Truxedo customer service seems good. I received the wrong clamping kit with my order, called them and the next day the correct clamps were on my doorstep.

Hi Ti-tan

What was the part number for the Truxedo kit? I was given part #588601 from the gal at Truxedo. She said that was the number for the King Cab with the Utilitrac system and contained the new clamps. lol

The local auto parts guy says that the low-profile Truxedo is difficult to roll up, that the velcro keeps grabbing and is a pain to roll up alone! Have you had this problem? Says that we need the regular Truxedo up here in Northern Ontario! Or is he just snowing me?

I do not see how there's a problem rolling the cover up! My lady has had No problem rolling the cover up! And she's only 5ft. tall! The cover's are 18oz. and made are of the same material! I really have no idea why he would say such a thing. This is by far the easiest and nicest cover I have ever HAD! And none of the dealers that I talk to said what he says. My low profile cover is very strong I had over 12in. of very heavy wet snow on it, and there was no sign of a problem! And it was very dry! Just my thoughts on this. :)

Thanks Deepwater!

I don't know why he said that either. He was trying to sell me on the Access cover originally. Said that it was a better cover than the Truxedo. Maybe he makes a larger mark-up on the Access! In any event I will get a Truxedo cover either low profile or regular!

Where do you get this cover, and how much does this cost? I don't have the utility bed package, so I'm not worried about the track.

They were trying to get you to buy what THEY wanted to sell....the lo-profile is simple to roll up even on your own. Really two people would probably make it harder!

Now that I have the correct clamps on mine with the Utili-track it is rock solid.
