Hello all,

Been wanting to grab a bedcover, but still on the fence as to which one. I'd really like for Undercover to make the Elite XL for the Titan but no such luck yet. The hard folding ones seem like a great idea too, but really want something rain proof. How are the ones you guys have bought working out?

I have the OEM cover and I like it. Keeps the bed dry and is hard under the top for security.
A friend of mine has the tri-fold for his ram but it leaks into the box area. They have hose that you can attach to control the water flow but it sucks overall. Not sure if others are like this.

I have a TruXedo TruXport Soft Roll-up Truck Bed Tonneau Cover that does not leak at all. Sure it doesn't have the security of a hard top, but I wasn't a fan of the bulky roller at the end for the rolltops and the fact that 1/3 of the bed would always be covered on the trifolds.

I also have the Bakflip MX4, and it's pretty dang water tight. There are obvious areas that leak, such as where the tailgate meets the bed, but even that doesn't leak much at all even with heavy rain. I wouldn't put permanent carpet back there, but for keeping luggage and stuff dry on rainy road trips it works perfectly.

It’s been very good, I put a dab of silicone on a couple of self drilling screws they used for the prop rods and nothing comes in from there now.
Since you also have one can you do me a favor and post a picture of the side bedrail where it meets the bulkhead wall taken from above, I have a small square about 1/4x1/4 open to the sky. That little bit goes straight through but don’t understand why the front gasket doesn’t cover that gap.

I have the Extang Trifecta 2.0 "Soft" Tri-Fold tonneau on my 17 PR with Titan Boxes. It uses the utilitrack system for it's anchor points so it requires no modifications to the bed rail to install. If you need to use the whole bed without the cover, you can remove the entire cover in less than 5 minutes (just unscrew the front anchors). I just recently finished a 4500+ mile road trip with the cover through all kinds of weather and had no issues at all. You can see there are some tiny gaps in the seal at the front of the bed since the rubber seal extends up onto the side rail caps. If you were **really** worried about water you could easily trim the seal to fit better or plug the gap but I drove through some rain & snow with no issues with water getting in the back on the luggage so I haven't worried about it.

If you just want a cover to protect from rain I'd suggest going with a cheaper soft cover. If you're looking for security for items in the bed go with a hard cover. I've had a cheap, soft tri-fold that I bought on craigslist for $100 for over a year, and it's held up well. I rarely get any water in the bed. We had torrential rain with 30-40mph winds here lately and there may have been a few wet spots, but nothing to where I'd be worried about something stored back there. I can also take it on/off in about 5 minutes so if I need the whole bed it's not a hassle. Just depends on if you want to spend a couple hundred or a thousand or more for a cover.

I have not gone through a car wash with it on, and I would not suggest doing so with a soft cover.

This is what I like about the OEM cover, it is very water tight because of the soft covering but then has hard panels below to help with the security part. No tonneau cover (with the exception of maybe fibreglass) will keep someone out that wants the contents badly enough.

I have the Extang Trifecta 2.0. Soft, trifold. Fast and easy to install by yourself. Easy to pop off if (2 T-handles) you need to.

Has been great for the 3 months I've had it. The only leakage I've had was after going through a touchless wash where the high-pressure spray is directly into the seal. I had a very very small splatter mark near the rear gate seal (considering the wand passes 4 times, that's incredible!)

Came highly recommended by a co-worker who has had his for about 18 months, and he bought it based on a buddy's recommendation who's had his for 7 years now. Oh, and it's one of the less expensive options out there.

I am looking for something very secure and very waterproof. I guess the only thing that really fits the bill for that is the one piece covers. I like the utility and looks of the hard folding better though. I can compromise a bit on security and waterproofing as long as it's not too much of a compromise. I've got the crappy plastic bed liner, but it does have the benefit of the raised ribbing that would keep any leaks from touching the bottom of whatever I had back there. I guess I can always add some waterproofing to the cover where it lacks it as well.

Something that worries me about the hard folding covers is how long are all those rubber seals going to hold up? I don't want to buy another cover in 5-6 years.

A new cover I just saw is the Weathertech Alloy cover. They only make it for the regular bed length right now though.

Here's my list for now:

Undercover Flex or Ultraflex

Bakflip MX4

Undercover Lux(Have to get it painted, don't like the black textured)

Bakflip MX4. Had it for 6 months so far. Love it. Install not too hard, took about 2 hours all by myself.

Leakage is minimal. Drips only. Very easy to fold up and lift. Can ride with it up against the cab and get all but about 8 inches of bed use. If you have any more questions, let me know.

I have the Undercover UDC-UC5086 on my 2016 XD 6.5 ft SB. $791 in March 2018 from TonneauCoversWorld.com. Drove to Alaska and back camping 40 nights with absolutely no issues. Had a Undercover on my 2004 Titan SE and in perfect shape when I traded it in at 125K miles and got the diesel. Shipping was free, no tax and I installed it in a couple of hours.

You picked a nice cover and you shouldn’t see more than a minor amount of water even in a car wash. I had 9 trucks with soft covers and all worked great and nobody ever bothered with them. This time around I went for a hard cover as I’ve been carrying thousands of dollars in tools back there and decided to stop taking unnecessary chances.

After 14 years of Titan ownership, I put a Tyger Tri-Fold on my truck. It came with aluminum blocks to use with the UtiliTrack system, installation was a breeze. The next day, we had heavy rains and there was slight leakage in the front corners. Tyger included some extra weatherstripping with the kit, so I added some there.

Over the holidays, I drove the truck from PA to CA, 2,800+ miles. We encountered rain, snow, and wind, but I had no problems at all. No leaks. Despite it being one of the lower priced covers out there, I'm very pleased with the performance and quality.

What a great drive, what route did you take and how long? A visit or did you move out there?
I will do that drive hopefully in the next year.
The cover looks good on there and performed well.

Since 1998, I have used Access Roll Top covers on GMC, Tundra, Silverado and now a Titan.
I don't like drilling anything into the truck and the Access ones have evolved over the years.
They clamp on, are adjustable and I haven't had any issues with water leakage.
It also rolls up next to the cab with you need to haul stuff and the extra strength velcro works even when its is 40 below out.
Access also stands behind their products. Simple call and they send you spare clips and brackets if you happen to break one.

I just ordered this one as the reviews of the Genesis Elite roll up covers are decent and the price was insane with the $50 coupon. It says that it fits Titan 67" beds with Utili-Track and box. Our 18 Pro-4X does not include the boxes, but not sure whether there is a fit difference with and without boxes. Did not get much information elsewhere. Some site's list this part number for the Titan XD, but some list it for the 67" bed regular Titan. Anyway, will provide an update when I receive it.

Update: Price up to almost $395 prior to $50 coupon. Mine is being delivered for $163. I see crazy price jumps on bargain items at AMZN routinely.

OK, so AMZN sent the first cover and the box was significantly damaged. The hardware kit was not for the Utilitrack system; they included clamping hardware for rails. So I ordered a replacement, and got a label to return the initial unit. The replacement unit was intercepted by my wife as the UPS person was trying to leave it on the front porch. The box was severely damaged and we refused delivery. They ordered us another replacement to be delivered middle of March. I still had the first one all boxed and labeled up as the UPS driver would not pick it up without prior authorization. I called Lund CS and described the situation to them, sent them pictures of the H/W kit and proof of purchase and they sent me a clip kit for the Utilitrack equipped trucks. I installed the bed cover yesterday; will post some pictures later. Then called AMZN, had them cancel the 2nd replacement. They refunded me another 35% of the purchase price as a result of the inconvenience and them not having to ship a 3rd unit to me. All in all, got the cover for @$107. Here are my thoughts:

1. Not much thinking went into the engineering of this cover system. It renders the Utilitrack system unusable, as the L/R tracks cover the Utilitracks totally. The installation of the clips (see below) is archaic; design most likely not been updated in several years.
2. It will let water in due to corner gaps etc., plus side rubber rail seals butted against the Utilitrack.
3. The fit and finish of the cover system is sub par, especially the 4 corners with cheap plastic corner moldings sewn under the canvas. The canvas material appears to be of decent quality. The system does have some conditional lifetime warranty, and is USA made.
4. It is surprising that this same cover is priced at ~$400 - $550 at several places.
5. The installation of the clips in the Utilitracks (2 on each side) is a challenge due to the low thickness of the clips. The clips should have been much thicker. I had to use extension bars to jam the clips against the front of the Utilitracks and only could then secure the rails. Took quite a while and through trial and error and playing with the positioning of the clips etc. Got the extension bars out with a magnetic pick up tool.
6. Other than the front bulkhead cover rail that sits on the metal portion of the truck bed front top (foam strip insulates the bed from the cover rail), the system does not touch the plastic bed trim; the rails clamp onto the Utilitracks.

In summary, for $107, I will use it as long as I can. My goal is to eventually get the Paragon cover. Was just not ready for a cover this early. Jumped on this one due to the ridiculous price I got it for. Looks half way decent once installed. Separately, Lund CS is decent, no issues. However, they are including the wrong hardware for this cover system (96897) that is for trucks equipped with Utilitracks. The cover and rails were stamped with the correct part numbers.

Sure it can "handle" snow, but watch the video of how it operates. The panels drop down into the bed. So if there is snow on top of the cover, where does it end up when you open the cover? My guess would be inside the bed, or compressed between the panels. I just don't want to have to clear all snow off (actually more about scraping all the ice off) before opening.

I skimmed through and saw someone mention the truxedo...I have the truxedo roll cover and I love it, with a couple of caveats.

First, it isn't as low profile as the tonnopro I had on my previous 2014 ram, which looked really good. On the opposite side of that though, my ram had water in the bed all the time, and this thing it always stays dry.

Second, the label on the cover has faded over time, and doesn't look the best. Not really sure what to do here, but I guess I should probably reach out to the company one of these days, I just haven't gotten around to it.

It was also relatively cheap, I think I paid around $330 for mine. More than the one on my ram, but it has the quality to reflect the price. I would buy again for sure.
