Hello I just installed a opt7 redline triple led brake light with reverse and turn I can give a how to on what is needed and how to install if anyone is interested because there is very little space there is a way around it. I know most of you think it can't be done because the opening for the rear tire drop down hole but it requires little modification but end result makes it a lot better and you can still access the hole to drop down the spare tire.

What's needed
5ft of 2" x 1/8" flat aluminum bar look at Home Depot for it
1 Hopkins towing solution wiring kit #41154 T tap
Zip ties
Electrical tape
1 wire tape connection
4 small but long counter sink screws not sure of size
4 small washers
4 lock nuts to fit screws
Rubbing alcohol for prep
Black spray paint
1 circuit test light
A knife or something sharp to trim plastic
Dremel with cut off wheel and small grinding wheel
Drill
Drill bits
It's a little time consuming but if you do it right it will work

Well the best way to install the under the tailgate led brake light is to trim the bumper plastic so the plastic on your rear bumper has about a 1/8" lip trim it so it's flush then remove the tailgate if you have never taken it off here is how it's better to have help with you remove the wires for the backup camera and parking sensors if so equipped first pop out the plastic tab on the cover then go under truck and undo the small white connector next look for a little black or blue connector it might have foam zip tied around it undu those and fish them out on the side of the tailgate. Next remove the 2 safety wires for the tailgate now pay special attention lower tailgate about 45 degrees pull out on driver side now be careful raise tailgate like your going to close then gently pull to driver side to slide it off the dampener installation is opposite of removal then remove the tailgate then remove the 2 plastic pop clips for the rear tire removal port plastic trim cover take the plastic cover off that will need to be dremel down. Save that for last next you will see 2 indentations if you follow that area where that port is from left side corner of the truck to right side corner the metal that goes across the back that has the spare tire port and the cut out if you have a camera on the tailgate. You will need a 2" x 1/8" flat bar I used aluminum measure it to fit in the indention I have the factory spray on bed liner so it still fits in the area then once you got your length take spray it black to match bed liner. It should rest on the frame and go up just enough then take the flat bar and see how much material you have before you drill your holes mark where you're spare tire drop down hole is where the trim cover attaches mark and notch the flat bar so you can attach the cover for it after note you will need to dremel the plastic so it fits just go slow and take your time remove a little material at a time and test fit the plastic At the end when the flat bar is attached then proceed to install the bar to the bed so you can drill 3 to four holes to attach it to the bed body try and use counter sink screw with a step down bit or a little bit bigger drill bit then install screw with a small washer on the back and a lock nut. After that is done take the opt7 redline triple led and get the bottom line to rest right where you have trimmed the plastic on the bumper so it's kinda flush there not going to meet so hold it in place to and center it so you get a idea then use rubbing alcohol to prime the area once dry peel the double sided adhesive on back of light bar and attach you only get one try make sure it's right before you stick it. After that's done route your 4 pin and white wire to the corner and down feed the white wire up to the driver side brake light trim it short but not too short remove the 2 bolts on the tail light on the inside of where the tailgate closes and your safety wire attaches for your tailgate.
Take special care when removing the assemble the are 2 pins that the assembly pops into the bed don't use force gently pull out wards the find the reverse lamp the wire on mine was green and black use test light to find the hot wire doing this by yourself start truck engage emergency brake then press the brake and shift into reverse once you have the hot wire take a wire tap and tap the white wire into that and wrap it with electrical tape to finish. Now onto your 4 pin you will need to find it's called a Hopkins towing solution wiring kit part number #41154 It's basically a T tap to run from your 4pin/7pin plug on your bumper if you have it unplug it from the back then plug in one from the tap and the other goes into your oem harness it's a simple plug and play no splicing so it tees off a separate 4 pin wire for a tailgate light bar. Loosely zip tie the wire from passenger side to driver side I attached mine to the oem wire ran it across to driver side. Opt7 says if you have backup camera and sensors you need a box to go with it so you don't get a light out error or trip a check engine light that is your call you can try it with out it but if you pop a fuse on that let me tell you it's a pain in the *** to get to the fuses. Those are located on the passenger side under the hood in the square box closes to the firewall it will be a 10amp red fuse and use a test light to find the blown one also use needle nose pliers to pull them they are low profile mini fuses and no a mini fuse will not work. The 10 amp fuse is in A tray it can be moved around there are 2 tabs on the side if you look at it push them in and pull up on the tray once it's out you can rotate it or stick your hand down in box to pick up what you dropped in it installation is opposite of removal after that tin that same box there is a row of fuses in the front look for a 15amp fuse closest to the passenger side so red 10amp one is for tail lights Blue 15amp is for reverse and turn. So after that is all done install tailgate opposite of removal take care of your connections for camera and parking sensors not to pinch them. Now Once tailgate is installed check to make sure everything works then go under bumper and tighten zip ties. Any questions feel free to ask
