UPREV INSTALLED (Will dealer reflash ECU??????)

987 Views 5 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Carbeaux
I installed UPREV with Osiris yesterday (LOVE IT!) and noticed today I have a rear axle seal leaking:ugh: ...
Took it to the dealer (under warranty) and they are to replace my rear axle seal on Friday. Should I have to worry about them resetting my ECU and erasing my UPREV simply to replace a rear axle seal. Any info is greatly appreciated.......
Thanks

I can't see any reason why they'd need to mess with the ECU. It's a simple and straightforward process to fix the axle seals.
On the note of the axle seals. What do you guys think the odds are of my rear end going out because of an axle seal going bad??????
Even if they do erase it (which I highly doubt) all you would have to do is reflash it since you have osiris...takes like 2 minutes.

If there are any firmware/calibration updates available for the truck you can count on them updating the ECU which will erase the Uprev. Most dealerships will pay 1-1.5 hours for an update, and it typically only takes a tech 15-20minutes to do it, it's easy money for them so they will almost always do it if there are updates available.

Slim to none. As long as you got the seal fixed. If you didn't fix the seal, I'd put the odds at 100%.
