I recently bought a used 2013 Titan Pro4x. When I purchased the vehicle I was unable to open the utility door behind the rear wheel. The dealer agreed to fix this (i have not taken it in yet). I recently discovered that the main key and valet keys will not unlock the doors or open the utility door, but do start the vehicle.

Before I take it in, has anyone experience this before? I have no idea what could be causing this.

If the main key will start the truck but not open anything, I would bet they replaced the ignition cylinder. Alternatively, someone replaced the lock on the door and the utility door. Do you have a center console, and have you checked to see what keys will lock it (if any)?

I thought the Valet key would not open the console or utility door

Well, I confirmed that the ignition key does not open the console either. I bet you are right in thinking that the ignition cylinder was changed out.

I have this same problem on my SE, just bought it two months ago....but the key does open the door. It just won't open the small cargo door. It will insert about halfway, but will not turn at all. It works everywhere else except for that door

I thought the Valet key would not open the console or utility door

From my understanding the valet key should not open either of those. I don't have a valet key to test this, but others have stated that it does not.

The dealership where I bought my truck sent me to their Nissan dealership. They cut and programmed a new key for me. Well, it opens all the doors and console, but will not start the truck. They are going to schedule an appointment and bring in a locksmith to fix the problem.

Well, I got my truck back yesterday. I now have one key that opens everything and starts the truck.....except the storage compartment behind the rear wheel. The locksmith could not get it open. They are going to order a new lock, drill out the old one and replace it for me.
