Hi,

I’m new to these forums, and I’m looking for some advice/help. I have 2012 Nissan Titan Pro4x with the utili track system. I’ve decided to ditch my toolbox that came with the truck; I bought it used, and reinstall my missing utili track channels, purchase a roll-up tonneau cover and the utili track bed divider. The current problem I’m running into is that the screws are very hard actually to screw back into their proper holes. I’ve stripped a few them, but they are still serviceable. I’m trying not to stip these last two. Can anyone give me advice on what I may be doing wrong or something to make this easier? As far I can tell everything is lining up correctly they just will not budge any farther.

Also any good advice on roll-up covers, I’m currently looking Rugged Liners but I’d be willing to look at any brand, so it doesn’t impede with the utility tack. Also, I’ve seen where some people have flipped the side rails. While it looks simple enough, I don’t want to screw up an functionality with my system since I want to get a bed divider.

TIA

Brandon

If the screws have been out a while, and the holes exposed to the elements, it would be wise to purchase a thread chaser in the correct pitch/thread count for those screws and clean the threads before you install the screws.

It may have been stuffed before you came along too.....I bought mine 2nd hand and when I went to flip the rails found a lot of the bolts were cross threaded....bad wrench monkey that installed/uninstalled the previous cover before sale....

like dubyam said I had to clean a couple of them up. Also use a touch of grease on the bolt.
