I'm new too this forum. Hopefully this thread ends up where it should. My 2010 titan developed a hitch when the vdc first comes on. It happened this morning on a snowy road. Until this morning everything worked fine. It would stall the motor and go again as it should. Note my truck hitches forward when the vdc kicks in, but only when it first does it. If you keep on the gas the hitch will go away and it'll operate as it should. Any ideas, or anybody had a similar issue? I have no dash lights on and brakes work fine still. Thanks in advance.

I could just shut it off, I like the feature when my gf is driving my truck in the snow.

What do you mean by "hitches forward"? Like as if you tapped the gas or something and it surges forwards a little before being limited?

just drove home. It feels like a rear end hop. Like a truck when its breaking traction and the rear end hops up and down. I don't know any other way to describe it.

I've driven on snow with it many times and today was the first day it's done anything like this. I haven't done any recent work other than an oil change.

stock setup. It's an SE. I've noticed since that incident, my brakes in the rear are making a clicking noise. I took off the tires and nothing looked wrong though. Unless it's my parking brake set up I can't see. I have a hard time believing that the brakes would have anything to do with it though?

The clicking noise (if coming from the rear) is most likely your parking brakes. The material will separate from the metal and drop to the bottom of the drum. parts aren't to bad but getting the rear rotors off can be a pain in the a$$, because the shoes are usually adjusted against the drum and it causes a lip. The good news is the shoes and hardware kit were pretty cheap. I should know, I just did mine yesterday.

My truck also does the hopping. It only seams to do it when the roads are really slick out and I'm just driving down the road in a straight line. It seems like the truck has a hard time deciding if it needs TC or not. For me it didn't really start doing it until I switched to bigger tires. When it starts doing it I either let off the gas or turn VDC off.

I do the same thing. When it starts to slip I just either let off or turn off VDC. I actually just disabled the whole system (ABS and all) and got a stand alone system for the ABS. Now I get to spin w/o being limited! I'm plenty good enough of a driver so I don't need TC. Plus I rarely drive her in the rain! What fixed mine before I did this mod though was changing the wheel speed sensors...they were old and broke, and uncalibrated. I would check those too if I was you.

How were you able to completely disable the vdc and TC without pulling fuses and then putting abs on its own standalone system? This mod I'd like to hear about and possibly do. What year truck did you do it on, because I could see this as the only obsticle?

Thats actually exactly what I did. I pulled the fuse that controls that whole system (ABS & TC) and put in an aftermarket ABS system thats meant to convert an older, non ABS vehicle to ABS. Thats why its a "standalone" system. I forgot the name though...anyway, I also redid all of the abs wiring (the kit came with its own) and got rid of all the trouble codes with a code reader my friend has. My truck is a 2011 pro-4x flex fuel. Its a bunch of trouble to do but when I almost totaled my truck due to being limited when I had to accelerate, I said thats enough. Glad I did it too. I mean really...I got Wilwood brakes, I can stop my self if I'm spinning lmao.

Nice...I might have to do some research. Once all the wiring was done for the ABS are you able to completely turn TC and VDC on and off without throwing any codes?

I just never have them turned on. I left the fuse out so I could do what I want hahahahah! I guess you could turn it on and off by rigging a switch to the fuse, but it would throw a code every time you switched it off. I just leave mine off and said screw the computer haha. All I wanted was ABS.

Quick update.

I know it's been a while but here's what I found out. I had the tailpipe break at the flange on the stock exhaust and didn't realize it at the time. when I did finally notice it I also saw that the exhaust was dumping out right in the area of the ABS wires. once I fixed the exhaust the problem stopped.
