I've got some decent vibration after my C30's and 1.5" block.

I can't remember where it's coming from but I remember Eddie talking about shims but can't find the thread on it.

Although the little vibration does feel good on my a$$ and back! :coolsmile

could be driveshaft vibrations.
for starters get some pinion shims. u can find them cheap at summit or jegs for around $15 shipped. get maybe 1.5 or 2*.
another thing it might be is axle wrap. traction bars will fix that.

Are you 2wd? If so, did you install a carrier bearing drop bracket?

My traction bars are suppose to be here within the next week or two from Greg.

I'll wait till I get those on, if that doesn't fix it I'll try the shims!

Yes 2wd. I've had 4inch blocks for almost a year. I installed the CBDB at that time. Only thing I did was switch to C30's and 1.5" block. Ride height is still the same.

You will have less axle wrap with the Deavers and 1.5" block than with a 4" block. Did you check and make sure that everything is tight?

Sure did. Even had another guy make sure everything was tight.

I think it's the drive shaft tbh.

I'm going for a drive now. I'll take notes when it happens, how long etc. I'll report back soon.

It's very inconsistent. I'll get it randomly, at no certain point or RPM's.

Accel and decel. It's hit or miss when it happens.

I feel it vibrate through the wheel, floorboard and seat mainly.

Right on, that's what I figured.

Just out of curiosity. How do the shims work to fix the problem?

Edit: Just read it changes the driveline angle.

Your drive line angle should be just about the same as it was before. both set ups were 4" of lift. I wonder if the C-30 is letting the axle droop out a little bit farther? I guess that might cause a vibration. Have you talked to Greg about it yet?

I will say, although they both equal 4" of lift. I think the C30's bring it up another .5 - 1" than before. I haven't had a chance to measure the fender height yet.

I've also tried Greg 4 times this week. No luck.

was the 4" block tappered ?

shims will help with angle since your 1.5 block is not angled.

also even though you have a cbdb, greg to me to get a piece of rubber, 2" long, thick like a hose, and place it between the bracket and that will also help the vibs.

Yeah 4" was tapered.

Stupid question. Which way did your shims go? Thick end in the front or in the rear?

And where exactly does the rubber go? Any pics?
