Void Warrenty if add PML rear Diff Cover?

1324 Views 6 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  SirKeats
Just curious of adding the larger PML rear differential cover would void (or cause problems) with warranty work should any need to be done on the rear diff.

Anyplace other than yourcovers.com to get the thing? Trying to find a better price than $180.

Thanks gents!

It shouldn't, as long as the fluid is at the proper level and of the correct type.
stillen has a rear cover that increases the fluid as well and it is only $125

exactly! if anything the PML is an improvement to the stock '04 cover, and even the redesigned one '05-present.

I bought the Nissan kit for $175. Although if I did it again, I might just buy the cover for $95 and reuse the old bolts. Save $80. I don't believe the existing bolts would be too short. The ebrake cable bracket is nice, but I think I could have flattened the clamp attached to the cable and just reattached it with one of the cover bolts.

I like this cover better than the stillen because the fins are deeper, so it cools better. And because it doesn't require more oil, so it's cheaper to maintain. And, of course, it won't void the warranty; it's a Nissan part.

I have the PML cover and did not have any problem with having both the seals replaced, covered by the warranty.

thanks gents. im definitely doing this. i'll have my mechanic put the cover on for me though. i'm worried i'll not get the gasket to seat properly and i'd rather not have to do it twice because of leakage.

i think i like the pml version better. seems the fins a re a bit deeper on it than on that stillen one. more oil and deeper fins = max cooling.
