Wanted to thank my Nissan Titan

i thought i would post this for all of you and let you know how happy i am with my truck although not a pretty as it used to be. i was on my way to work this morning traveling 60km/hr when a car ran a red light and ended up in my path. i am not even sure i had a chance to hit the brakes before impact. i am just going to say the air bag is great but hurts like hell and broke my sunglasses. i was a little dazed when my truck came to a stop but the motor was still running. it took me a moment to figure out i was alright and get my head back and i turned the truck off (i hope i did not do any motor damage). i stepped out of the truck and saw the car that ran the red light. it was another 30 or 35 feet down the road and the pass side doors were pushed all the way over and were pinning the driver inside. when fire and rescue showed up they had to free the other driver with the jaws of life (paramedic told me he was beat up pretty good but should be fine). so i just wanted to thank Nissan and my truck for taking good care of me when i needed it. i am still shocked at how good my truck looks and that i walked away.

here are some pics.

Glad to hear that you're okay. The Titan scored well in the NHTSA crash test rating.
Wow...glad your ok and the other dude lived...

I feel better about letting the Titan be the child transportation vehicle.

*edit* It looks like both fenders were untouched. not bad. Makes me think the frame is intact and probably still straight.
Man, you destroyed that car. Titan 1, GrandAm 0

Glad you and the other driver are OK.
Glad you are OK and so is other person in the car. Be safe.
Glad everyone is ok! Sorry bout the truck, but she held up damn good!!
Oh man, you broke his hubcaps! A little duct tape... it'll be alright.

Just glad all are safe and hope you can get your truck back good as new. Or better yet, get into a brand new truck. Good luck!
well just got a call from the body shop saying the damage is between 19 and 20 thousand. i am torn i really love that truck but i do not know if i want it back. a fixed truck never seems a good as a new one. the estimate is only for what they can see and did not take anything apart so there might still be more problems. how do they determine if its a write off or not?
I thought it was if the damage was greater than 75% of the current market value of the vehicle?

I would assume that would fall into the "totalled" status for that price. Be interesting to see what your insurance company says. If the insurance company sees that price as more than the vehicle is worth then they will not want to fix it. Thats a pricey tag for what i see. You will probably have to get a few estimates to justify that.

To add to the toughness of this truck, I got hit sitting still one night from behind. A bad wreck happened and I had to stop on a local highway. The kid was doing the speed limit or more when he hit me from behind. All it did was bend my bumper and exhaust. He was hurt pretty bad. They can take a licking for sure!!!!
Glad to hear everyone is alright. Sounds like it will be "Totalled" by your insurance company...too bad

These are really good trucks, a friend of mine rolled his 4 times going down the interstate and walked away with only a few bumps and scratches.
Wow. glad to see ur ok and that the Titan held up so good.
One does feel safe in the Titans for sure. Hopefully u'll get urself a new one.. :)
if they do write it off i will absolutely be getting a new one. this is the best truck i have ever owned. from the photos it does not look to bad but the front doors do not open properly the fenders are pushed back over the front edge of the doors. i am just so glad i walked away great truck. the sticker price of the truck was just under $41000 (yes i live in Canada and we pay to much for stuff) i wonder what value the insurance company is going to use its a 2006 se (4X4 off road).
Just go to www.edmunds.com and post in what options you have. It will tell you it's current value. You can also use www.kbb.com to find out.
Or you could just wait to see what your insurance company says.....since that's their job???? LOL.

Actually, their job is to be cheating bastards. Make sure they dont screw you on it. Did you have GAP insurance as well?:paranoid:
Insurance companies crooked? Ha! NONSENSE my boy!!!!

For real....if....i say if, they dont total it, i would push hard for depreciation compensation. Just keep saying CARFAX, CARFAX, CARFAX.
wow. glad you are ok... pretty much ate the pontiac though eh?

the one pic looks like some one whos eyes have popped out of their sockets but are being held on by the nerve endings
