Ok i finally took my truck into the dealer for some minor things to do since i would be outta town working for a few weeks. I absolutly HATE dealerships and their incompetent techs who know less than a 3rd grader about cars and trucks.
I have had horrible experience @ 1st Nissan in Simi Valley where i BOUGHT my truck and will not return. they want to charge me before they even look at it.
So i decided to go to the Nissan Of Thousand oaks dealership, which is actuall a Nissan-GMC dealership located in westlake village. These homos are douches too!!!
I had a few minor things adressed, that i could do myself but i figured use my warrenty since i can.
BTW I have an 06 bouught NEW with 24 miles on it last dec 06. So its one year old EXACTLY and i have 28,000 miles almost (yea drive alot 4 work).

--Ok issue one
.... Parking brake is useless... I adjusted the 10mm at the pedal to get a little but still pretty useless. They claimed they need $50 to START looking at it cause it doesnt fall in the 1 year 12k miles period. (WTF?!) So i said dont touch it ill do it myself.

-- Issue 2
... Front door gap is off and door doesnt latch fully. This one may have been somone opening it to fast or wind grabbing it but i am not 100% sure. Basically a SIMPLE adjustment. BTW i take tremendously good care of my trucks maintanence and so on., and i usually do anything myself w/o bothering the dealer such as squeeks rattles alignment cams etc.
They looked at it and said no. I have never touched the fender or door adjustment. There is some metal cut and trimmed for the ramair by the grill that in no way or form is close to the fender or harming it. Its been fine for 24000 miles.

Im not even going to list anymore you see where its going. Basically i would like advise on how to take these a-holes down. Nissan needs to know about these bastards. Their lucky im still stuck in Vegas working and a buddy is picking up my truck or i would have rung the guys neck.

Once again THIS KIND OF CRAP is why i will be continuinng to do my own work and maintenance. (oh btw the last time they had my truck was @ 3k miles for the free oil change where they didnt change the oil filter and broke a lug nut thread off while checking somthing i asked for. they said they didnt do it and it was wear and tear)

Man sorry to hear about your dealer issues, but my dealer has bee GREAT. They even pointed some stuff out for me before my 3yr/36k mile expired. You just need to find a good service department. Good luck with everything.
Yeah, from what I understand is that anything that needs adjustment is covered 12 months or 12,000 miles whichever comes first. All dealers that I have been to try to charge before they even look at it. But if they replace a part its no longer an adjustment and is covered under the 3/36 or 6/60 warranty.
I've been to 2 Nissan dealers so far...both have been awesome w/ warranty work. They basically tell me they'll do whatever they can since it's still under warranty.

Sounds like you just have reaaaaaally bad luck
i tend to agree. i only take my vehicle in for the things i can't do, especially recalls. just recently i did the seat belt recall and the tech couldn't even figure out that the plastic strap guide for the center belt is suppose to fit within/under the decorative cover. instead, they just left it "loose." and when bolting the rear seats back in, they pinched a wire to my backup camera, causing the fuse to constantly blow.
yea i guess next time ill drive further to find another dealer. At this point i would only resort to a MAJOR problem to go to the dealer. I worried me when had to explain to one of the techs what "camber alighnment bolts" where and did to order them lol. This was th guy with grease on his hands working on other peoples cars:huh:
Sorry to hear about your problems, but you sound like the exception rather than the rule. I have never had any of the issues with the techs that you seem to have and always get good service without having to pay up front wherever I go. I have taken my 04 to dealers in Florida, Illinois, California and Nevada and every one of them has been polite and helpful to the point where they even said they would do whatever they could under warranty while they had it there.

My original dealer, now my current dealer again, has even suggested that I bring it in at 95K miles so they can fix and/or replace everything under warranty before I hit the 100K limit.

Maybe it is the attitude you show when you talk to them that causes the problem. Just a thought based on your comments.
Sorry to hear about your troubles, not every dealer is a pleasantry to visit as we all know. If you calmly and understandingly talk to the service manager, they will usually try to make up for your troubles. You just have to take a deep breath before you go in and talk level headed sometimes, even though it's frustrating. Sometimes it's not worth the trouble to take it to the dealer if you claim to have the auto know how you say. Those guys don't enjoy someone coming in insulting them and telling them how to do their jobs.
You have to remember that dealers now employ "technicians" and not "mechanics." The "technicians" are basically there to confirm something
isn't working and replace it - there is little to no diagnosis going on. Or at least this has been my experience at both Nissan and Honda dealerships.

If you can find a good local mechanic, e.g., one who has built their own drag car or shows some evidence of having actual automotive knowledge, things tend to go better. You will, of course, have to pay to have them do anything though.

Whenever I have had an issue, I basically ask them to replace/check something in particular (usually because I have found the issue here on TT
and the fix as well). If you just give them the truck without any guidance, you probably are not going to get anything fixed. You will get the classic company line "Could not reproduce/duplicate problem" or "Part working within specification." Best of luck to you.

I’ve had same issues with the dealer I got to in Corona, the first two time they where great, but the service manager is a real A$$, he tries to compare my truck to others on the lot or in for service, but they never seem to have a LE. So he pretty much putts his foot in his mouth

They wanted to charge me $94 to adjust my parking brake, doesn’t always lock right away my truck will roll a little and then I’ll hear a click and then it works. They said the same thing about the 1 year 12k miles period, I went in for service about a month ago and for my next on I trying a new dealer
I have to take my truck in for state inspection and a factory recall (they still aren't sure which one no matter how many times i ask and suggest what the TSB MIGHT be) and i also have to get my passenger seat fixed. the part that adjusts the seat portion is hanging off for some reason, I tried to fix it but it seems to need a "clip" or something... *shudders*

I'm with you Lead, I prefer to do it myself..
I feel for you guys that get lousy service from the dealers you take your trucks to. To date, I've taken mine in for several miscelaneous needs, and all the maintenance work. (before you guys start ragging on me for not doing my own easy maint. stuff, I simply don't WANT to do it anymore) They've been great for me. My SA is top notch. I do take them donuts or breakfast from time to time. It's well worth it to me to keep a good relationship going with them, and they've yet to let me down.

Good luck with getting yours all straightened out.
I can't believe I didn't notice my driver door before I got it home, too. Mine was out of alignment, and practically hit the pillar before latching. The did fix it but it still kind of shudders when I close it.

Can anyone tell me how to adjust the parking brake? Mine is pretty weak too.

Right above the pedal is a nut, I think it is 10mm. Just tighten the nut until your brake is where you want it.
Sorry to here about your troubles. I haven't takin my truck in for service yet because i do the Maint. myself but I know not to go to the local Nissan dealer here because I had a bad run in with them. I have a 02 altima 2.5 and at around 90k miles my car was acting up. I took it to the dealer and at the end I had to pay 100 dollars for them ot re-gap a spark plug. i argued with the guy but I still had to pay for their services. And don't you know a month later when I was in Vegas they had to replace my engine under warranty....:)
But my best service was the dealership in ABQ, NM. They really would put a smile on my face.

Adjusting it is that easy. Just look right above the pedal, I can't remember if it is in front of or behind the pedal arm or not, but it is real easy to do.
If you find that adjusting the brake at the pedal isn't working for you, there is another adjustment point at the brake drum. It has been a couple of years, but If I remember correctly, there is a hole near the parking brake shoe that allows access to a star shaped nut that allows for further adjustment.I do remember that it was very hard to get to that nut, but once done, it worked well.
Thanx for those who chimed in. As mentioned above yes i was very polite when i dealt with them thus far (i wanted them to respect my truck and do the job, im just really fed up). Im still outta town and my tuck is home waiting for me. Im just tired of every dealer i go to.
As for the parkig break yes there is a small adjustment at the pedal. Mnes maxed out and there is another adjustment at the hub its just a pita.
What is the proper number to contact to let nissan know of their shady dealerships? I would not recromend these dealers to ANYONE unless they are completly changed and run properly. That is NOT how to coax a customer into coming back for repeat business.

I hear ya man!

My local dealer is full of idiots too, long story, and I will not let them touch my truck again if I can help it. I do have another dealer across town so I'll give them a try since I have a couple issues that need addressing.

I guess we can all start by submitting complaints to Nissan's Consumer Affairs Dept.
