Weight distribution hitch for lifted truck?

3686 Views 5 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  BMERACING
Never used a distribution hitch before but I have about 8" of lift on my 2wd titan and running 35" tires. I have a drop hitch right now because of the lift but can I use a regular distribution hitch or does anyone sell one for lifted trucks? Sorry if I sound lame but I have always towed boats and never needed one. Now I am looking for a 21 foot toy hauler and figure it would probably nice to have. Thanks guys.

You can use a normal weight distribution hitch like the Equal-i-zer (or others). Be cause you are lifted, you'll likely need a bigger drop shank. Equal-i-izer sells like a 9" one or something (I had it) that will help the ball on your hitch line up a bit better with the trailer.

Whats the best hitch you guys have used? And I am leaning toward 4.10 gears so what do you guys think should be the largest toy hauler I should get? I know it depends on weight but I am gonna buy that new RZR 900 XP and that is pretty much gonna be the only toy inside.
Equal-i-zer FTW.
I have a 2008 Titan , I added a 3/8 inch extra leave spring in the rear , I haul a 20 V-nose ATC (total length 24 ft all Aluminum ) trailer that is approx 3200lbs empty , it is approx 5200 lbs loaded , I tried without a weigh distribution hitch and it was tough to haul ...trailer sway on the highway ...added the equalizer hitch and solved the issues needs to be set up correctly ..truck and trailer level when connected ....
