Anyone have an idea of who Nissan gets their curb weights? The web sites lists the SE CC 4x4 LWB at 5570 lbs. However my title says my truck comes in at 5460 - 110 lbs less.

I don't 37 gallons of gas weighs 110 lbs. From what I can tell a tank of gas weighs in at 222 lbs (37 * 6).

Dammit! Now I will! Stupid numbers..... numbers everywhere.... they don't add up! AAARRRRGGGHHHHH!!!

The official definition of "curb weight" is the weight of the vehicle with full fluid load but no occupant or cargo.

The gubmint also rates vehicles by classes... The classes involve "curb weight". Who knows, but for some reason, the curb weight may be slightly off due to various options you may have or not have based on the standard model they officially weighed to fit into the truck class.

Oh, and don't forget, websites containing official info from corporate divisions, may NOT always be accurate or up to date....

Maybe. In NY there is a difference in the type of license plate and title you get on the vehicle. 5500 is the magic number. The dealer said the shipping invoice listed my truck as the lower weight while NissanUsa says it's higher.

It's not a big deal except if I have passenger plates and decide to do anything commercial related in the truck, I could be fined.
