Today i was driving my 04 Titan 4x4 and sitting at the light I lost heat.
Then I noticed the temp gauge climbed as I took off from the light. Then the temp dropped back to normal and the heat came back. This all happened within one minute.
Normally this is a sign of a head gasket.....
Anyone else have this issue?
Any ideas?
No codes pertaining to this. Tho i have 2 codes PO507 and PO455.
These 2 codes I have had for a long time. The first is a High Idle issue. The other is an EVAP leak which I have the new part for this damn solenoid
for the canister. I see they have an updated version now and hope it fixes it.

Check to make sure the engine's clutch fan is working properly. When the engine is warmed up (and off) the fan should be stiff when you try to rotate it.

Maybe you thermostat got stuck closed. It's a cheap part that might be the culprit.
Bingo! How many miles? When was the last time you did a thorough flush of the coolant system?

So I did a little checking on the clutch fan. It spins fine with a little resistance as it should tho it has a little wobble. So i guessing I need a bearing. I am going to get a better look today.
The weird issue showed up again yesterday so I am getting concerned.
I see there is a clutch bearing bracket and clutch fan,so that means it is not bolted to the water pump. I usually replace the water pump just for insurance. I know the clutch fan needs a special wrench but I see one is called for the water pump.....is that true?

I removed my clutch fan with basic wrenches. 10 mm or 8 mm as I recall.
