Hey guys,
I traded in my 04 crew cab LE on a new crew max tundra. I had my fill of constant problems with the titan. I hope i have better luck with the tundra.
Good luck, come back and give us a report.

Good luck with your new Tundra hope its better for you that the Titan was, keep your eye on the trannys I hear they are having issues with them and Yoda is keeping hush till they can get enough parts to issue a recall. They also have a lot of complaints on the bed bounce issue the Tundra owners feel they need to strengthen the c pillers not very sound. Lets not forget the cam issue they seem to be complaining about as well.Other than that I think you bought a very nice truck good luck.

Congrats on your new truck.

I'm still on the fence with this new beast. I see them on the road and think they look good but something about them screams "Pretty Truck" to me; the Titan screams "Butch". Then again I saw a black Tundra just the other day and it looked better to me but I still didn't get that "Bad A#$" impression.

I actually looked at the Tundra's right before I purchased my Titan this past April and my main reason for purchasing the Titan was that it wasn't a first year model. After reading about and seeing the Tundra I'm glad I went with the Titan and have minor complaints to date. However, I still have faith in Toyota and I think they have certainly joined the "Big Boys"; they just need to work out the kinks.

Good Luck & I'll look forward to your comparison of the two.

I got the 5.7 with the 6 speed tranny. SR5 package. So far so good. I've had it since may..........0% for 60 months. I am a trader.........traded in a 04 crew cab titan LE for the Tundra.

Given the problems you had with the first model Titan, you must be a glutton for punishment to turn around and buy another first model truck.

Good luck with it, Toyota generally makes a quality product (but then again, so does Nissan) :)

Should have tried a new Titan. They have worked out the problems, and like someone else said...

Going from a year one truck, to another year one truck, may not be in your best interest!!

Good Luck!!

Congratulations, I was in the same boat as you, except I went through two Titans before I gave up.
I bought one of the first Tundras made in 1999(2000 model), and I never went to the dealer in the 4 years I had it. That is why I didn't hesitate to buy one the first 2007 Tundras made. So far, after more than 5 months, I have had no problems and zero trips to the dealer.

Not totally correct Skyhammer. Hows being a MOD at the Tundra site going?

The only problems I have had were when the tailgate would not close because of the Line-X which was fixed easily and I have a slight clicking noise from the drivers window only on the roughest roads and it is not bad enough to make a special trip to the dealer . Other than that I have had no problems, unless you consider the PIA oil filter change, but that is not a defect, I just don't like it.
Oh and the hitch receiver is larger than everyone elses, but that is not a problem either, I just don't know why they made it that way.
The only time I have been to the dealer is to have my XM installed in the NAV, where they also attached a clip on the door causing the slight click.
Perhaps you can refresh my memory as other problems I have had.

lol.

and yeah i agree with the guys above. a first year vehicle always has unforseen problems. so 2 go from a first year titan to a first year toyota is kinda askin for it. just like the when dodge changed to their current style dodge and it was really popular. they had alot of tranny problems as well. but who knows. maybe this time it will be different.

Great point bbomar!

At the NJ Meet, one of the members brought his girlfriend who had a black Toyota Tundra. Looked real nice and she said the same thing. It (like every other truck) has its issues.

I bought the Titan (07 KC) over the Tundra because:
-bang for the buck
-local Toyoyo dealers tried to rape me on trade-in more than Nissan did (still got raped lol)
-1st year vehicles arent my bag
-28k for a SE KC with Tow was 28k OTD (keep in mind the -3500 upside down from my trade-in)
-looks way better than the Tundra (I think its the ugliest truck available), all I really wanted from that truck was the drivetrain
-the money off was a better deal for me than the 0% interest because ill probably trade this one in a few years for a newer one and California has simple interest.

anyways, good luck with the truck.

yup! couldn't agree more and although you'll have some tundra nard say looks are subjective, i must say, i'm not willing to be subjected to people saying, what an ugly truck the Tundra is! its flat out hideous, but more than anything it too is a first year truck. better to have gotten the 08 titan!
