So was my Pedal Commander until I bought it and tried it. It’s now over 4 years and in 2 Titans for a combined total of almost 110,000 miles. I was proved wrong. All the oil that’s been accumulated in my can in the last two years didn’t coat the back of my valves and their stems.
I respect your opinion, I just don’t agree with it.
Twelve years ago I towed a new Mustang GT to Roush in Livonia Michigan to have work done, it came back with dual catch cans on it, if so unnecessary why did they install them? I believe they are very well respected in automotive performance.
So you spent $300 for a throttle manipulation device that just amplifies the pedal input?? What does it help your Titan do now that it couldn't do before the pedal commander.

It takes far less pedal input to get a response, it was well worth it to me. You do you and the rest of us will do us.

Thinking logically, without anything to clean the valves on a DI engine, I want something to help reduce the amount of oil bathing the back of my valves.

My last EB f150 had one too, cuz DI turbo life! My non DI engines I don’t worry about the can because the injectors do most of the work of keeping the valves clean.

Having said that, I can still see the value in them even on non DI vehicles. Even if I couldn’t, I wouldn’t spend much time arguing with the supporters of them because it’s their ride. Who am I to question how they spend their time and money for their vehicles?
Yes I owned many a 90’s Ford and was always amazed at the amount of sludge in the intake manifold!!

At how many miles? I don’t wait until my 5000 mile interval even with the can extension. I had a 2005 it was a wonderful truck.

I used 0W-20 full synthetic for the first 25,000 miles on my 21’. I would dump the catch can every 2,500 miles and it would be about 1/2 full. Since then I’ve used 5W-20 and I can EASILY go 5,000 miles without dumping. I will try another oil change of 0W-20 and see if it truly is the oil or something else that caused more to collect…

I've never dumped mine.

If you had a DPI version of the 5.6 I’d love to compare the top of your valves to the top of someone with a catch can at similar miles and maintenance schedule. Furthermore, It would be interesting to compare engine output numbers to show the negative effects all the carbon build up causes…. What year Titan do you have again?

2018. Currently at ~80,000 miles. But since I had the knock issue and replacement at 15k it's technically 65k.

Engine output numbers don't concern me. Engines normally lose power and efficiency with age.
