Going to Grove OK this Sunday (any members down there?) to pick up a boat. Wife and I have been on the hunt for a pontoon for the last month and it looks like we finally found one we both like.

2004 Sun Tracker XP3 22' Regency Tritoon
I/O Mercruiser 3.0 (135hp)
Tandom axle trailer with surge brakes

Looks like it's going to be about $150 to haul in 4th gear for about 800 miles. I'm going to use the BD to put my truck back to 87 octane for the haul. No need to pay anymore than I have to...

Those are pretty cool for lakes and stuff. We always rent one when we go to the north carolina we get it for a full day, cruise around the lakes and even do some softcore tubing. But bring that thing down here to Florida and youll probably get laughed at, its like seeing a yugo at a ferrari auto show, it sticks out like crazy lol. I hope you enjoy it dude

What coast is Delray beach on? Excuse my ignorance. But I know down here in the Southwest Florida area you never see any of them around, all we have is big fishing boats and cruiser boats. A pontoon is rarely seen

exactly. I'd rather be on that then a bayliner. Now if I had a 34' boat with a kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, and a huge deck..then it'd be a different story

Most boats down here are the ones with the kitchen and bathroom and stuff.

No big deal, Delray is on the southeast coast. The town just north of Boca Raton in between West Palm and Ft. Lauderdale.

They're not called party boats for nothing!:bangit: When I've been in florida I haven't seen many of them but in a lot of lakes and spring break areas like lake havasu they get tied together and turn into a huge floating bar/party. And anmut if you put 2 to 4 evenrude 225 motors on there you'll be able to party going really fast lol

Thats what I mean, most arent on the beach and if there are a few they are chillin in lakes. Dont get me wrong I love those things but it would just be weird having it down here

From what I can tell - the sweetest thing about an IO like the Mercruiser 3.0 is that it's basically a 4cyl carburated car engine. That means that you can start modding it for more HP very easily keeping in mind the cooling system.

That is sick Anmut! I wish I had a pontoon boat. I would grab some beer, fishing pole and my bbq and have a good ole time.
