Howdy folks,
What is the real mpg (not the Nissan stated one) of the 2017 Titan? I am planning to purchase it but the mpg is throwing me off.... What are you averaging unloaded and not towing anything? When you do load something on to your bed what are you averaging as a result of the payload? Thanks!

( I have already spoken to the folks on the XD forum and I am awaiting their response)

Lots to consider here...
- altitude
- summer vs winter
- ethanol vs ethanol free
- modified vs unmodified
- driving habits

Unmodified 2017 Titan 4x4 SV, 1800 ft, no ethanol, winter driving, fairly aggressive driver...I'm averaging 14-15 mpg in true stop-and-go in town traffic, 17-19 mpg on the interstate (80 mph), and 19-20 on highways. I anticipate it being exactly what the sticker says come summer.

My MPG display says 11.2, calculating it manually around 10, this is my everyday average mixed highway and town. The best I ever got was 15.2 and that was on a 3 1/2 all highway trip. Needless to say I'm not happy, I've already had it at the garage complaining about the MPG and transmission. After looking at it for over 3 hours they found nothing wrong and told me to put more miles on it, at the time I had around 1500 miles on it, I now have 3500 and nothing has changed. I have a friend that is averaging 16.5 in same driving conditions as me. Even if I drive my truck like a 80 year old lady, I can't improve the mileage. I had a first gen Titan and traded it in on a RAM 1500 because of the poor MPG, at the time of trade in I was averaging 16.8 MPG on the RAM. I will drive for another 500 miles and take it back to another dealership to see if they can find any issues with the transmission and the MPG. The MPG really isn't a huge issue with me, but the way this transmission acts is really annoying and might cause me to go back to RAM.

I'm averaging 13.8-14.5, mostly city driving. That is hand calculated. My MPG meter is usually 1.5-2 mpg optimistic. I have had my truck on only one actual highway trip. I hand calculated 16.6 on that trip. Computer said 17.6. I am completely stock.

Just finished a 4800 mile trip from cold MT to warm Yuma via Nevada. Lots of elevation change, temperature change, various driving speeds, various fuel (all regular and much of it e10) and lots and lots of wind. Passengers and cargo probably a little over 1k pounds. Driving through ID and MT at 80+ mph the worst was 15.6. One tank with speeds below 65 and much at 55 or less it got 19.8. Total average was 16.8. It has 15.4k miles total and has performed flawlessly in all conditions. It is great for traveling - smooth, quiet, comfortable, and no worries about going anywhere I want to go ( muddy, snowy forest service roads ).

Side note - drove a stretch of highway 6 in Nevada and didn't see another vehicle for nearly an hour - following hour saw 3 DOT trucks and 5 private vehicles - I didn't think possible anywhere in country. Also golfed the lowest elevation golf course in the world in Death Valley - 214' below sea level.

Canada....cold, elevation 3000'....I live in the country but work in town, so mileage is 80% Hwy. Combined is 18 mpg. Hwy mileage on a long trip is 21 mpg. Very happy with this. I have 15,500 miles (26,000km) on mine.

Idling kills MPG. After car line and then driving home I might get 13. 45-55MPH which is most of the roads here it varies widely from 16-22. Yep, I hit over 22 in this thing according to the screen (ya, let me have it, I know it might be less) but that's awesome. I think the Nissan gods felt sorry for me with the 2011 since I only got 13 all the time in that truck and now they are making up for it, lol. 2017 Gas, 4x2 CC SV.

2017 2wd SV crew cab. My "commute" is less than 2 miles so that obviously kills my average mpg. Any other driving I am mostly happy with the mpg given the power on tap this thing has. I have gotten over 20mpg on every highway trip I take longer then 10 miles. It's very comparable to my previous 2011 gmc sierra and far better then my 2008 first gen titan.

I have a 2017 Pro4x.

In cold weather, I have been getting around 16-17 mpg with a mix of city and highway.

Best mileage ever was on an almost all highway trip averaging about 65 degrees out going 65-70 mph the whole time I got 22.8 mpg according to my calculations at the next fill up , trucks computer said 22.6 mpg so it was close to actual.

Worst mileage was 12-14 mpg when it was -20 degrees out in a mix of city and highway. This is also the same mileage I got when towing my 4000# travel trailer in the summer months.

Not much I can complain about since I am at or better then what is stated on the window sticker.
