what is getting wet on my truck in front after washing it ,

I have a 2004 Titan and when I wash it and spray water in the front with the hood closed it does not start for a few days , this is the 3rd day now and will not start it was raining eairler and is damp out so this is prob why it will not start today , the crank sensor or something is getting wet , this happened before I was ready to take the fuel tank out and change the pump because the last time it was not getting any fuel but whatever is getting wet is telling it not to give it fuel ,this is not the problem , I know this for a fact , something is getting wet in that area , I am not getting any codes at all , I know after it dries it will start , I just want to know where the crank sensor is which I think is the problem and getting wet or some relay in the area , I have a manual coming on the truck , but if you have any info on what I can look for that is getting wet .LMK , thanks

Try running it, then taking water and spraying the front area again. if it keeps running, you can narrow down the ideas. If it stops running..you'll have a good idea what location is causing your problem.

this seems odd as there isn't anything behind the grille other than the horn.

it's possible that may have rubbed exposing a wire but I don't think that would cause the truck to not run for 2 days.

do you have any trouble codes flashing or anything that might give you an indication of what the issue is?

how do your battery terminals look?

yes, you stated that when you "wet" the front end your truck doesn't run.

i simply stated that there isn't anything on the other side of the grille to keep the truck from operating in the hopes you'd pop your hood and take a gander at what's happening.

in order for a motor to run you need spark, fuel, and air. you aren't getting one of the three critical components required to turn the motor over.

it could be a fuel pump issue or something else but i can't troubleshoot a problem over the internet... that's where you come in with some helpful information. you need to build on the "front end gets wet, truck doesn't run" theory for us so we can HELP YOU!

I agree with DeadRiver - there's nothing behind the grill to prevent your truck from starting - I open the hood and hose down the engine with no problems....

I agree with other posters. It is most likely a coincidence that this happened after you sprayed it down, and really either it's a big fluke or you did something else at the same time that caused it not to start. My guess is a bad wire from the battery or something. There's no reason why water on the grille, horn, or radiator would cause it not to start.

that is strange that you can do that , I have a buddy of mine and was told for the dealer do not hose down the engine compartment because of this problem , there are to many relays and sensors that can get wet and shorten out , maybe one of mine is cracked or something , I have a manual coming on this so I can locate the things that may be causing this problem , I mean this is strange and as I said it is the 3rd time it happened now and after it dries it will start , I will keep you posted on the problem I am going to go under it and clean everything electrical that I can blow dry with my compressor and see it that works out , anyone else ever have this problem

one other guy had a similar problem and is still troubleshooting.

the relay, fuse block and everything is located on the passengers side (right) of the vehicle behind the battery. other than that area you can pretty much hose down the engine bay... just watch the MAF sensor on the air intake..

i've been running my 04 on the original battery since 04 with no issue, i have however had to clean the terminals on the battery numerous times and just recently added some felt washers to keep the terminals from resting on the battery..... they still corrode like a mofo though.
