take apart the tail light, look to see what the previous owner wired them up too???

looks to me maybe its a camper top connection that wired up lighting and such and he connected and pulled power maybe from the rear tail light area.

follow back the wiring to its source and obviously if you dont have a use for it, remove it and tape wrap and protect all wire penetrations he made.

curious...post back what you find.

It's the wiring harness for a truck canopy (camper shell) that powers the 3rd brake light and interior dome light. I would just tuck it up and away under the bed rail.

I just installed a LEER canopy and had to add this wiring.

Excellent, thanks 'erbody! Hmmmmm.... wonder if I can use this to power LED bed lights... or some other crazy ish...
I ran a separate power line from the battery for the LED strip lights I put in the bed. LED lights don't draw a lot of power for the amount of light they produce, but they do draw some power and you may not want to be tied to a source that could be a switched power source (unlikely as that is).
