What kind of trailer?

So I thought I was all set on which trailer I wanted to get. I was looking at the 2008 Weekend Warrior fs2500 super lite. Almost ready to get it and now I see that there are some people towing fifth wheels with there titans. I saw a member with a 30ft weekend warrior toy hauler super lite. This opens up a whole new avenue. I definitely need a toy hauler for my type of camping. Anybody towing have some advice on which way to go? Only problem I have right now is my truck has a 6" lift on it. I dont think I would be able to get a fifth wheel level but I did keep all my stock suspension so I could go back. Im almost ready to throw in the towel and get a Duramax diesel but if I can do it with the titan I think I might. What type of suspension would you guys recommend if I went back to stock? Air bags? Active suspension? Whos towing with a bumper pull and how much weight? Thanks

I'll give my little opinion here. I'm not an advocate of 5ers with a 1/2 ton truck. ANY half ton truck. I'd love to have one myself, but I can't get past my conservative nature in this regard. It just doesn't seem safe to me. If you want to pull a 5er, get a 3/4 ton truck.

I pull a 6k lb 27 footer. No sweat. The trailer's rated to 7k, but I'll never tow it that loaded up. I never have reason to tow it with full water tanks.

Carbeaux...I totally agree with you on this. Those Toy Hauler weights can add up quickly even when trying to stay under. I pull a normal travel trailer, 30'er and I can feel it back there. Maybe because of my lift and 35" tires but believe me, I know it's back there. It comes in around 7500 lbs. I have the power but add a Santa Ana Wind or an emergency braking situation on an LA freeway and it will let you know it's there. Anything bigger or heavier I would get a 3/4 ton. Just my opinion but be cautious and really research the Toy Hauler you want. Also get a really good WD hitch if you get a travel trailer type and braking system too!
Just putting in my penny's worth.
I tow a 28 ft 5th wheel with my 04. It has a toungue weight of 750 lbs and a gross weignt of 4500 lbs. Yes I do know its back there but we only travel in sothern AZ so we dont have that many of the hills. If I were any bigger on the fiver then I would go with at least a 3/4 ton. We bought the fifth after we bought the truck and I was very careful on the toungue weight when we went looking.

So I scrapped the fifth wheel idea and have it narrowed down. I really like the Thor Tahoe FS26 super lite.

Shows dry weight is 5500 lbs. I figure with water and two quads and personnal belongings I will be around 7500-8500 lbs. Thats if I load it with full water. Dont think I need 100 gallons of water for just two people though. I do have double bellow air bags and a weight distribution hitch. I also have big tow and brake controller. I also am lifted about 6". Heaviest I have towed with the truck so far is about 4000lbs but from what I have been reading there are several people on here that have towed 8000 lbs and been ok. I would like to hear from people who have towed this much. How was it?
I tow a 27'TT, about 7K loaded. I tow in the mountains of New Mexico and as stated earlier I do know it's back there. Power is not a problem. I tow in 4th with tow mode on, and I don't hesitate to drop to 3rd when I feel the need.
