Well believe it or not gen one titans are 13 years old making them a option for teens (Me). I was able to buy my Titan off my dad who had taken very good care of it, but if you scroll on craigslist I grantee you can find titans in all condition from 3k to 10k. I absolutely love this truck. At work I get to drive newer truck and I have yet to been disappointed to hop back in my T. As these forums get taken over by kids what should we know. One thing I have learned by owning a Nissan truck is the lack of cool factor they have when disusing them with other red neck friends. The only way to gain respect is to "race" their 99 ford 5.4 triton which they think is bad ***. During this race my tach never saw over 3k rpm and I was putting about a bus length on him. Not really sure where am going with this post but I want to thank everyone on these forums by how help full they are and am sure there will be lots of punks coming on here and seeing what yall have done.

hahaha, quit while your ahead and save money or continue education... beating that 5.4 is no big deal...lol
the Titan with a few off the shelf mods can roll pretty decent, but on par with what`s out there. The newer trucks are getting faster, you simply can not compete unless you plan on dropping a ton of green into it. otherwise just drive and be happy.
yeah, sigh, these ******* sqwatter bozos don`t have a clue as to what they are doing to their trucks. serious people don`t do that.

so good luck with your new ride, enjoy, and please don`t drop the *** end or raise the front...

Best advice I can give is, if you ask for advice, listen too it. Don't disagree with it because it isn't what you want to hear. Listen, read, and learn...

Nice truck! I'm over 40 and just got my first used Titan...Go figure. Like you, I had the opportunity to rent several new half ton CC pickups over the last 2 years. Ford, Dodge,Chevy and Toyota are ok, but that sticker price :eek_surprise: The 2016 Titan XD is awesome but again $$$ too steep! My buddy let me borrow his 08 Titan SE CC and I've been hooked since. I'm not into all the bells and whistles of new trucks. I'm all about functionality and value. I've been working on cars since 16 and I'm not scared of turning wrenches and doing performance modifications. I've already had the windows tinted, installed in channel vent shades, removed the pin stripes and did some general maintenance. I'm saving up for stage 2 Cajun and Uprev. I can't wait! Enjoy your truck Kid!

Life's too short! Enjoy your truck whether it's lifting it or making it faster! Building it is the best and most enjoyable part of the whole experience. Thats why we mod our trucks right? I did mine in stages. First the audio, than the lift, than wheels and tires and finally all the exterior mods! Oh, and than there is all the BS parts you have to order and replace when $hit breaks lol! Good luck!

If you only listen to one piece of advice on here listen to this. Please for the love of not filling this place with the same thread 10,000 times search first. And if you search and find a thread with 500 posts, don't post another thread asking for the answers that are in that thread just because you're lazy and don't want to read.

My first (and current) truck is my '08 T that I've had since I was 20. The only thing you're gonna hate is not being able to drive by a gas station, especially if you're putting your foot down.

I disagree with the "do a search" mantra you hear on so many forums like this. It gets to be some sort of fetish for some people. The truth is, you can ask the same question and get any number of different answers because 1) sometimes there ARE different answers, 2) new users come in who have better info and who have not weighed in on the 500 post thread that has the answer buried deep inside it like the Ark of the Covenant in a gubbmint warehouse.

So in my opinion, if you have a question, ask it. There are plenty of people here who are nice enough to answer it even if it has been asked before and we're not really at any more risk of filling up the internet with redundant questions than we are by extending ponderous 500 post threads.

Now, my advice is this: don't modify your truck if everything is working.

The argument is for consolidating information. Would you rather search 30 threads that are named differently, tagged differently, and have anywhere from 3-50 posts in them or have 1 thread with all the information if you'd just take a little while to read it? Usually by the time you get the answer you could have easily read the long thread.

But I guess if you're not searching threads in the first place it doesn't matter.

My advice...

1) Find a candyassed "safe room"... It can get pretty ugly in here...

2) And if you don't want your feelings hurt, see #1.

3) Enjoy your truck!

I've rarely not been able to find what I was looking for using the search feature on this site and odds are if you don't find it, you either don't know how to use the search feature or it was a stupid question.

And biggest thing I've learned here, do not tow with these trucks like they were designed to tow, and if you happen to, do not talk about it as some people will freak out at the thought of these things actually towing stuff.

If you know how to do a search it doesn't make that much difference if the answer is buried in a 500 page thread or in 500 single page threads.

Yep. Not sure why it has to be that way. Not sure why the per capita jerk ratio is so high on automotive web sites. The "My350z" website is notorious for that.

But here is an observation. On the 350z site, if you want to avoid the flamers and jerks, you go to the ‘Motorsport’ section where most of the members are racers or track rats (like me). Nice, helpful bunch of folks in there. You will never hear someone complain about people not doing a search, especially new users. It is just so pointless.

In a similar way, there is a tractor website call TractorByNet. Incredibly nice, super smart, super helpful folks in there and rarely a flame at all.

My theory is that people who are using their equipment for something serious and useful are less likely to be pissed off flamers than tuners, moders and fad followers. Just a hunch.

And just for thought, if the ultimate goal is to have a good high signal-to-noise ratio on the site, why clutter it up whining about some noob not doing a search?

It doesn't bother me that the same questions have been asked 1,000 times. If they didn't get asked over and over, the sites would die. I've been part of a bunch of different car forums, and they all more or less follow the same trajectory - high excitement about a new model, tons of people and questions, people start talking mods after a few years, next generation comes out, first generation forums start declining, model ends, forum starts sliding into oblivion. Let's face it, there's only so much to talk about when you're talking about a machine. Eventually almost everything has been asked, so if you don't show re-runs pretty soon no one even knew the series existed.

Just look at how many "big" posters here have faded away to nothing. Once they sell or trade their truck, or are finished modding, they quit the forum or never bother participating any more.
