This might be a helpful thread for prospective Titan buyers to know what they’re selling for in which region.

I just bought my 2023 Titan Platinum Reserve 4wd in Atlanta Ga this week. MSRP $68,550. Paid $63,400 with 0% APR for 60 months. They would have discounted another $3k if i went with their crappy 8% financing.

I had also considered a ‘23 Ford F150 Lariat but the Nissan really beats it on pricing and warranty.

Welcome to TT.

I personally would never pay $63.4K for any vehicle. I'll buy your used vehicle after you take the massive depreciation hit.

I like to use my money in smarter ways than keeping up fake perceptions of wealth with "The Jones" down the street and driving a "new" over priced vehicle and insurance premiums.

You can keep that $1500 monthly payment and insurance payment and I'll buy another rental property with that new truck money and drive my 2011 that I paid cash for.

You do realize that without new cars, and people to buy them, you wouldn't be able to buy a used one. Right?

Don't go offending people by passing financial judgement and insulting their purchase. It's just bad form and you have no idea what their circumstances are or what put them in a position to buy a new car.

For what it's worth I own three investment properties and for the last 25 years have always bought used cars. I decided to buy a new '23 Titan Pro4x ($64,000 after taxes) last year because I was finally in a financial position to do so. I could have paid cash for it, but with a 0% interest rate I decided to invest that money in one of the many higher yield (5.50% CD) savings accounts that are available right now.

I bought my 2023 Pro4X June 26. It had a $61,660 sticker. The dealer discounted it $7k and added a doc fee, taxes, tags, and registration and financed it a 0%. I paid $10k down and my payments are $786. It replaced my 2002 F150 and my 2005 Dodge Magnum RT. I got $11K for both and they sold within 3 days. I never thought I'd pay that much for a vehicle but I'm loving the truck since it is such a pleasure to drive. It's quiet, very comfortable, and powerful and all the options are nice especially the Fenders stereo system. I'm almost 80 so it probably will take me out.

i will buy cpo. no way i am paying that much for a vehicle either. my 2017, in 2020, had 29k miles on it and was 30 or 32k

The price of new trucks, any brand, is absolutely staggering! When you get to some of the top trim levels, you're practically paying the same money as a small starter home. I still love my 2012 (paid $10K for it in 2020) and I really love having no car payments! Now that I have a 2021 Ram provided by work as my daily driver, the life of my Titan looks to be extremely extended, lol!

With out the Illegal immigrants that come and pick your food in 110+ degree weather, and work in the slaughter houses, you wouldn't be able to eat right? Just stating asinine facts like you above about people buying new vehicles.

Didn't know you were so easly offended. Waste your money as you see fit @Whipsnap I can care less about your portfolio.

My post is not meant to be offensive, just stating facts that "I" will spend my money in smarter ways then buying a new vehicle that losses $15K value the moment you drive it off the lot with a $1000+ payment plus insurance.

You guys do you and I'll do me. I think it's ridiculous to have a post comparison of how much the dealer ripped you off because as a society we are taught to have the new and shiny toys and to always compare ourselves to "The Jones"

The problem with new crazy vehicle prices these days are that people still buy them. It’s our own fault..

Until we stop buying them, big corporations will continue to raise yearly prices. $60K for a daily driver depreciating asset isn’t my ideal of joy.

@Roush I'm not offended. I'm annoyed. You say your post was not meant to be offensive, yet it clearly was. You can't make a statement like, "I like to use my money in smarter ways than keeping up fake perceptions of wealth with "The Jones" down the street and driving a "new" over priced vehicle and insurance premiums." and not mean it as an insult to the OP or anyone else who shares their purchase price here.

There is nothing about the intent of this post that is meant to prove anything about keeping up with the "The Jones". You introduced that and completely missed the purpose of the post. It is about trying to inform prospective buyers about what similar Titan's are going for and to provide useful information for dealership negotiations.

If you're so concerned about what new shiny toy "The Jones" have, maybe you shouldn't be the first, as you usually are, to request pictures on threads for new member introductions. Seeing other peoples shiny things might be too much for you to handle. This should be a forum for Titan owners to share their experiences, find answers and enjoy our trucks whether they be new or used.

One reason I bought a new truck is that we always drive one of my vehicles on vacation. My wife's car is a 2013 Infiniti EX37 bought new and now it only has about 57k miles on it. She doesn't want the miles put on her car. She says she wants to keep it forever and that sounds good to me. I drove my old 02F150 on vaca out to Wyoming and again out to Montana from the NC coast. I drove my 05 Magnum to the FL Keys a couple times and drove both on many shorter trips of 6 hours or less and my oldie goldies had started worrying me a bit as far as taking long trips. I plan to drive out to CA to visit my son this year and see what I can see along the way. You never know but hopefully the reliability is better with the new truck.

I have bought new and used in the past. New for the wife, used for me but the wife doesn't want a loaded Titan either. The theoretical reason, I need her in something that is as reliable as possible even though I have found in recent years that there is plenty of new junk being sold (Thanks Kia). I bought my Titan (2017 SV CC 4x4 w/44k miles) 3 years ago and paid right at 30 for it. It has been a wonderful vehicle the only issue I have had was covered under the factory warranty. My previous vehicle was a 99 F150 that I also bought used in 2000, it had 210k on it when the broken parts out weighed the working parts and it was time. I agree, I would never pay the prices that they want for new full size trucks even if I had that kind of money. Those that choose to, Enjoy!!

Trucks are expensive!

OP, you do you. Ain't nothing wrong with buying new. In Dec 2019, I bought my wife a brand new, 6 miles on the odo and still in plastic wrap, Toyota Corolla SE Hatchback with Tech Pkg in Flame Blue. It was her first brand new car to own that wasn't leased. Nice to have new.

However, with our trucks, it's been slightly used CPO because we pay cash for our vehicles, unless a lease.

In 2009 we bought our 2007 Titan SE 4x4 Big Tow CPO lease return, new MSRP $44k for $22.9K with 22k miles on it.

In Dec 2023 we bought our 2021 Titan Pro-4x fully loaded with all options, CPO lease return, new MSRP $65k for $41k with 12k miles on it.

I may never shell out so much cash again for a vehicle. Don't like where new vehicles are heading, with annoying safety tech, upcoming legislation to tax you on miles using your GPS or to control the speed of your vehicle. I will never buy into that, I feel my cars are just going to get older as time goes on.....

All my vehicles (7) have been purchased new. I been fortunate enough to be able to do so and I know many of us aren't. Its a matter of personal choice. I see both sides of buying new and CPO. I'm always afraid to purchase CPO is because you just don't know what the vehicle has been through from previous owner. Some dealers will tell you "oh yea we've checked it inside and out and everything's perfect" just to get a sale. Hear horror stories all the time. But at the same time there's always vehicle that come out to be just as good as new so its a risk for sure. With new vehicles you can most often get a good peace of mind there won't be any major concerns along with the factory warranties if there were to be any major issues. I know some dealers will offer their own warranties for certain CPO vehicles, but I hear it can be somewhat limited depending on the issue that may arise. Again goes back to personal preference and there's no wrong choice in my eyes.

From the less financially blessed side, $1500. Was in a tight at the time, I was asked to get it running for one of the in laws after it had sat over a year, SIL didn't like it as it was too big and the lack of fuel mileage didn't fit her budget. She is used to smaller sedans and was fresh out of getting t-boned at 50+ mph. I asked what they wanted her to pay and offered the same. I am in the camp of not buying new and have had the chance a couple of times before having a kid and before covid nearly bankrupted us. While I did get it cheap keeping it on the road is going to cost me soon.

Prior to my Titan, I bought a used 2003 F150 for $4000. I drove that truck for 8 years and got to 198,000 miles before I got rear ended on I-35, just south of Austin. Insurance said it wasn't worth fixing and totaled it. They lowballed me at first, but I talked them up to $7000 for the truck and $2500 to sign a medical waiver. I threw in an extra $500 and bought my 2012 Titan for $10K. It's been a great truck so far! We took out a loan on my wife's Nissan Rogue, but we paid it off in 6 months. I really hate having a car payment!

I paid $4,600 CAD (~ $3,400 USD) for a 2006 Titan XE CC with 331k km (205k mi) on it. In hindsight, I probably overpaid by about $400 CAD.
I have $6,325 CAD (~ $4,700 USD) into it in total after some maintenance, repairs, and elbow grease. Still a few repairs to go.

Complete: Speakers, head unit, rad bypass mod, hood supports, high beam bulbs, air filter, axle vent mod, tie rod ends, sway bar bushings, belt, idler, tensioner, 2x O2 sensors, block heater cord, wiper blades, blower resistor, blower fan, plus other misc things.
Still to do: Fix trailer running light circuit, patch drivers side exhaust manifold, get AT's and wheels for summer, hopefully source the tailgate top trim piece.

I hope this truck will last me 1-2 years on my farm/acreage, just long enough for me to sort out some issues in my personal life and hopefully sell everything I have and move south to get out of Canada 😬 lol

Welcome to the forum! I agree that reply wasn’t very helpful and not too sure what calculator he’s using to get. $1500/ month payment on 0% 60mo. That’s 90K. Hopefully the math is better on the “wise investments” that we all should be emulating. The post wasn’t a question on “is it wiser to buy a used vehicle or new one?” It was a statement of fact on what the OP paid. I bought a new 2022 and hope to keep it forever and will never pass judgement on how a person spends his/her money. For all we know the OP may be paying for it with his rental property income. Sometimes it’s nice to be the first one to break wind on new truck seats. CONGRATULATIONS on the new ride!!

I have owned many Titans. I currently own a 2017 Nissan Titan XD Pro4x with all options. I just bought a 2023 Nissan Titan XD Pro4x with all options as well. I bought it as a CPO. 8k miles for $46k.

Crazy good deal - I’ve been eyeing a 24’ XD for some time. Waiting for the right deal on it to pull the trigger. The main question will be, do I keep the old one for my daughter who starts driving next year??? Or trade/sell her???🤔🤔🤔

Keep it for her. You know its dependable and will keep her safe in an accident.

And its good for girls to know they can drive a big truck. My wife is scared to do it so its a pain for anything when i am away and she needs to bring the truck for something

Back in mid 2021, I got a new SV 4X4 that had a few dealer options already thrown on it that usually don't come stock. I paid $52k at the time. Oddly, the very few that the same dealership has on the lot now are nearing $60k for the exact same truck. I'm wondering if the discontinuation this year has something to do with trying to rake in more bucks?
