My truck is a 2WD used for daily driving and towing my racecar. It has just over 50,000 miles on it. What are the popular replacement shocks for these trucks? I'm not looking to lift/drop the truck at all.

Thanks.... any how-to for replacing the front? I assume I'd have to rent a spring compressor?

Oh... any forum vendors sell the Bilsteins for a good price?

Shockwarehouse is a supporter here and I think they have a discount code. I tried to install them my self with the spring compressors from Autozone...scared me to death. The compressors started bending so I stopped and took it to a shop to have it done. But there is a very good write up on the site on how to do it if you are interested.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. There is a really good write up on here. I am trying to find it.

The 5100 series will lift your truck. The base setting is 0.5" higher than stock. The Bilstein HD series however will not lift at all.

Thanks for the info. I'll stick to the standard Bilstein HDs then.

when u do the shocks...rent 2 spring compressors...i did the shocks in my 08 and like matt said the compressor started bending i broke one returned it and the second set worked but they give u the money back neways once you return the kit so just order two and have 4 compressors on for one spring it will work like a charm. im switching my crappy rancho stockers to 5100's in a couple weeks so i will be doing just the same.
