Hey guys I have drivetrain and engine know how but can't for the life of me under stand rim and tire sizing so hopefully I can find some help here. Just did the bilstein leveling struts set at the 1.5 inch setting and am looking to change wheel and tire size. I'm likely going the 20 inch route and nitto terra grapplers. Question is when I do decide to buy the rims how big can I go width wise, was hoping for 9.5 inch, without any rubbing issues, do I need to look at a certain offset and what tire size can I fit up to also without issue? Tryin to keep them from stickin out too far too. Sorry I know there are probably 50 different possibilities but I'm just lookin for some direction. BTW its a 2006 4x4. Thanks

with only a level, a 9.5" width rim will cause too much rubbing at the pinch weld unless you go with a very short tire. Even a 9" with 4.5" backspacing can rub with a 33.

The 9" with 5.71" backspacing still stick out 3/4" more than stock 18" rims, and even that is more prone to rubbing than stock. The 8.5" rims with 5.14" backspacing stick out a little more at almost an inch. If you don't mind doing the pinch weld mod, (see link in my sig), you could run a 34 with either of these.

An 8.5 with 5.75" backspacing would only stick out 1/4" more than stock and you might be able to fit the LT275/65R20 E 126R 200-820 15.6 34.09 x 10.98, but with the LT295/60R20 E 126Q 201-140 16.6 34.45x12.36 you probablly will still need to pinch weld mod.

Probably a LT295/70R18 E 129Q 201-130 16.6 34.41 x 11.77, in the Terra A/T, with front mud guard removal or trimming, and heat/reshape the plastic fender liners. Don't think you will have to do the pwm but maybe, but depends on your caster alignment, since that can move the front wheels forward and back, and can even differ driver side to passenger side. Lot of people run the wide LT325/60R18 D 119S 200-220 15.6 32.99x12.83 even though it is supposed to go on a 9" wide rim, but I haven't seen anyone having issues.
